Holy ****, is Love Island back on? Tell me it's not the British one because my wife loves that show.

Don't you worry, there's also an Australian version she would probably love.

Yeah, but most of the starting PG's are also their teams' #1 scoring option, so I think the number for Giddey should be less.

Don't disagree I don't want to pay Josh $38M per, but is that really right? Can easily think of a bunch of teams who's lead scorers aren't the PG: LAL, MN, BOS, DEN, HOU, MIL, SAS off the top of my head.

SA and Den are they only team on that list where they make over 30 million.

SA because they traded for the PG who was the best player on his former team.

Denver because Murray was clutch on a team where he is considered the second best player.

The Bulls are fools and should stick to their guns

You can't e-sign a 125 million dollar contract?

Come to think of it, maybe not? A CBA thing, perhaps? I feel like in years past I've seen stories that are like "they've agreed on the contract, but the player is on vacation and can't sign it until he's back" or that sort of thing.

But they all have to go through Chicago first.

Seems with the light contracts behind handed out Giddey should get less than 30M which could be a steal if his FT rate is legit and his 3 ball is real at 37% on increased volume.

I believe in both of them being steady.

I thought all they do now is agree on a contract, technically not official so didn’t think they actually sign yet.

Unfortunately I was never an NBA player so not sure how the process works.

Have to wait to officially sign until the 3 day moratorium is over. Something like that.

I think you give him 2 options.

shorter term at your desired 30 million...3 or 4 years
or longer at 22-25, say 8 years.

He's so damn young!

I am one of the few people on this board who thinks giddey is a very good player and that the Bulls COULD build around him....

I think max length is 5, no? But conceptually I agree with a short (maybe 2+TO) deal at higher AAV, or longer (4) at ~$25per. 4/$100 or 2/60 with a TO for 35. By then, he'll still be in prime, cap goes up so Bulls could retain him at $35 which will be reasonable. But gives flexibility if he regresses or team sucks and they want to deal him as an expiring.

5 years is the most, and I'm glad it is.

If there’s anything I’ve learned from the news recently, it’s that we can void the contract if it’s signed with an autopen.
