Wouldn't the Bulls have to eat Paul George's contract if we want to get 3 from the Sixers?

Soooooo I was on nba draft net and they have Khaman Maluach falling all the way to 13

Might we still have a chance at this guy?!? I thought he was a lock in the 6-10 range

If we can land Maluach, I’m trading Vooch over to GSW for Jonathan Kuminga immediately

C Maluach
F Kuminga
F Buzelis
G White
G Giddey

That’s a big lineup and phenomenal rebuild completion

Billy plays Giddey with two guards. Never as a guard with two forwards.

I wouldn't take anything away from an NBA draft.net mock. They have no insidery info.

I’m not taking anything from them. I haven’t been following the mocks since mid season

I’m literally wondering about Maluach’s draft range. Another site had Maluach to the Bulls at 12 while another mock had Ace falling all the way to us.

Maluach has been participating in competitive workouts for top-10 teams against other big men, aiming to showcase the improvements he has made in his skill level and physique. Maluach received a clean bill of health from NBA doctors during his medical examination, which is significant considering his size and some minor ailments he experienced earlier during Duke's season. The Nets, drafting No. 8 right at the end of a tier of prospects before what seems to be a clear drop-off, can afford to be opportunistic and wait to see which player falls to them, whether it's Maluach, Fears, Knueppel or someone else.

Maluach is one of the draft's youngest prospects, turning 19 on Sept. 14, and has significant room for growth both physically and skillswise. He plays with tremendous intensity and is beloved by coaches and teammates, due to his unique off-court intangibles.

His ability to anchor a defense with his wingspan and provide vertical spacing as a roller and cutter, while sprinting the floor aggressively in transition, will be attractive to any team looking for a center to build around long-term, including potentially the Wizards or Pelicans, which pick at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. -- Givony

Anything Is Possible but indications are it would be a shock if maluach fell below 9, and very surprising if he was even there at 9

here's what jake fischer reported today about there being a perceived "top 8" and everyone else is generally considered to be on a lower tier, which is similar to what other insiders have said:

My conversations with team executives and agents have revealed a top eight that has formed in the eyes of many front offices that appears to be nearing consensus status.

We repeat: The exact order after Flagg and Harper remains TBD, but numerous league executives who specialize in gathering draft intelligence have conveyed that Baylor freshman VJ Edgecombe, Rutgers forward Ace Bailey, Texas scorer Tre Johnson, Oklahoma point guard Jeremiah Fears, Duke freshman Kon Kneuppel and Blue Devils big man Khaman Maluach are the six players commanding the most interest … although Bailey is indeed no longer seen as the top-three lock he once was.

"If it's not those eight [in the top eight], it will be seven of those eight,” said one Eastern Conference executive.

Those top 8 still leave KJ Noa and Cowhard at our pick.

I think Coward goes 11 to the Blazers.
Think KJ goes 10 if Rockets keep the pick. If Suns get it for Durant probably still KJ.
If Maluach is gone it’s probably Noa to the Raps. Hoping they take Carter Bryant instead.

Is it possible Ace falls well past #3? Maybe into the 8-10 range? Maybe even to 12?? Dude is tanking his draft stock. Is anyone going to be willing to take him with a top-6 pick without having him conduct a workout?

I don't watch much college bball anymore, but i watched a lot of the tournament. By far the most impressive player I saw (outside of Cooper Flagg) was Walter Clayton Jr. His comp to Fred VanVleet seems so obvious to me that I can't get it out of my head.

I'd be pretty happy if the Bulls somehow nabbed a late pick in the first round and got him.

He’s an nba player, and this is a very deep draft.

I don't see it as a deep draft. Bulls could easier get stuck with some unappealing options at 12.

Even if he fell to 12 I'm passing

Nothing I've seen based in his play or his approach to the draft give me any confidence Ace will be a positive impact player.

Talented and athletic - all very possible

But didn't we just get rid of Zach LaVine?

Question for the Bulls... Is this like last year were it was just a bad situation for Matas in the G League or is he just another high talent with low IQ player. It would be hard at 12 to pass on a best in his class upside. SGA fell in part because he was telling some teams not to take him.

There is absolutely no way AK passes on Ace @ 12

That would be insane

I think forcing a team to trade from him a la Kobe or Steve Francis

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

I'm not a huge fan of Ace, but I would laugh if he fell to us because the potential is still there.

You trade house for Ace if he drops anywhere near after 4.
