I don't even know what I would want from Sacto. I'm not a Thorton fan and they're not trading Cousins so......

The only LAL and Chi deal that would work is Gasol, Blake and Kelly for Deng and Boozer. That trade saves the Bulls 6 mil. They can then deal Kirk and might get under the LT

I'm pretty sure that something like Kaman+Nash post 15th of December would work. You get their first round pick, shut down Nash for a season and focus on 2015. free agency.

But if Sacramento is all for it I just beg our FO not to take any long term contracts like Jason Thomspon or Landry.

Salmons+Mbah A Moute(who can crack the rotation next season once we get rid of both Boozer and Gibson)+their first rounder. Still don't think they would give a first round pick for an expiring contract but maybe they are that stupid.

You would want contracts not going past 2015. and you would want their first round pick.

Boozer wouldn't bring you anything other than some sucky contracts than can ruin the 2014. & 2015. salary cap.

If we miss on Melo the next summer, I would even keep Booz and try to swing him for Love/LMA to balance the trade. If Melo wants to come, you can always amnesty Boozer.

Gibson is the one that must be shopped though.

With Gasol not looking too good and Kobe now in the fold extension wise would LAL scratch free agency knowing Carmelo is most likely staying in NY and take on Boozer to land Deng.

i like the trade you posted up tho...i would atleast make call asking if they would do a deal such as that....but i dont think we would do that even if orlando said yes...since we would be taking back more $$$$

but if we did next year our roster could look something like

Rose/Hinrich
Afflalo/Ben Gordon
Butler/Dunleavy
Boozer?/Taj/Nikola?
Noah/?

Green font right with that line up?

Problem is, what do the Kings have that we want? Besides McLemore and their 2014 pick, neither of which we're getting.

Sacramento owes thier 2014 pick to Cleveland, top 12 protected, so the only trade pieces of interest would be Cousins and McLemore. Can't see them dealing either one for Deng.

Yeah, it's a solid plan but I would still rather keep Booz because we absolutely need to move Taj.

Boozer's contract is a non isue atm. It doesn't cripple the organization in any way, if you can get Melo next summer who is realistically the only free agent worth pursuing you can always amnesty Boozer.

If you can't get Melo, you keep Booz, get rid of Taj and use Booz's contract to make a package possible for Love/LMA next season. If you can't keep that you just leave the guy, he is a solid player and it would mean the Bulls have a legit 4/5 rotation with him, Jo and Niko once again in 2014/15. He then expires and you get the cap space.

I think people are discounting many teams for Deng. With Derrick out and if Bulls rebuild, there is almost no competition for Miami and Indiana in the East. And, Indiana, kudos to them for doing well...but we know they are very beatable in a playoff series without any real star.
Teams also know Miami is aging and will decline if not this year, the next year. Teams who are 40-45 win teams are a Deng away from going deep into the playoffs. Right now, it is all muddled but it will shake-out in a few months.

FWIW, Deng will possibly be the best FA in the market assuming Melo and LeBron don't become FA. It makes sense to have bird rights for Deng.

worse players than Deng who expire and a future pick works for me. The point in any trade should be to get worse

2015 first rounder would work for me, too.

I don't think they can trade future picks until Cleveland gets their pick. Count Sacramento out of Luol's race if they can't involve the third team to give the Bulls a first rounder.

I still see Cleveland, Detroit, and Sacramento as the 3 most likely scenarios. They've got a need for a 3, they aren't tanking, and they have the expiring contracts/assets to make something happen.

Deng for

Salmons/Patterson/Fredette/2015 Protected 1st
Villanueva/Caldwell-Pope
Bynum/Kings pick or 2014 Protected 1st

If we could get 2 teams fighting for Deng, upping his value, that would be something.

Detroit and Sacramento can't give out their draft picks.

Cleveland will have the cap space to sign him in the summer but if there is a interest for Deng from some other teams maybe that pushes them to make a move.

i agree with ralph. i dont care what bulls get for deng. he wont be resigned, so he has no future here. he is just hurting bulls now with every efficient game he puts up. get him for granger and let granger rehab his knee.

noah for bynum+ filler like waiters and another rehab.

top 5 pick guaranteed

they can start right now. just need our "standing pat and liking teams flexibility going forward" front office to pick up dam phone and start offering deng , taj, dunleavy for bag of chips and cola
