It's a losing battle.

Tried to taper expectations, but, now will have no sympathy the kick to the groin or wrath of the Knicks fans it'll bring when the news becomes official.

It really isn't hard to create a duplicate account and say "I have a source" and then say that your source told you Melo is staying in New York.

It's by far the safest opinion to have on the matter. It's like saying your source told you LeBron is staying in Miami.

BestintheEast, what does this mean?!
Kris Bryant will go down as the greatest Chicago athlete after MJ

edit 7/30/21: okay maybe not, but it was a fun ride nonetheless

Woj

Lakers have moved into serious contention on Carmelo Anthony, multiple sources tell Yahoo. "In the game now," one source close to Melo says.

so Melo wants to win and somehow the Lakers help him do that?

I don't see it. They're an even worse choice than the Knicks, if that were possible

Hopefully this ends the narrative that Melo had already had his mind made up and was using everybody

Not true. Nash gets stretched and they can offer Pau market value. Then from there they can pay Young the room exception. Then can bring back Farmar and Henry on the minimum with the promise of early bird rights and in Jordan's case starting. Then they can offer Blake! Caron, and a vet big (JO) all of whom they've talked to the minimum. Clarkson will be retained for a year or d league seasoning. Kelly already has a QO

Kobe and Melo
Randle at 120%
Pau at 8mil
Swaggy at the room exception
Farmar and Henry returned with early bird rights ala jr smith the next summer
Ryan Kelly QO, Sacre, and Marshall
Cheap vet like Steve Blake and Jermaine ONeal

Its silly to think that they haven't put in the due diligence, but you would if you only watched sportscenter and list ended to Broussard over knowing they've contacted other minor guys and would assemble something like

Farmar/Blake/Marshall
Kobe/Young
Melo/Henry
Randle/Kelly
Pau/JO/Sacre

Clarkson - Dfenders

That's what they've looked at. It's always even acknowledged that they were t retaining Bazemore, Brooks, Wes, or Kaman ... They've maintained contact with hill as well but it's already been detailed they would need. Young to take one for the team and sacrifice a year for his early bird rights as well if hill went for the room

Oh man is that team nothing but a whole lot of average, especially in the West. But good luck if that's the plan.

Bron gets a raise in ny or la from Nike anyhow of 10mil as was discussed already, and TWC was there our thing to Melo as well so its fair to say LaLa would get some bank for a show which isn't illegal since unlike Dolan/msg, TWC doesn't own any laker stock

Those are some pretty strong selling points if true. Especially the show for LaLa. My God her name is LA.. LA, all her friends are there. Very appealing and a smart, strong way to get Melo to LA. We were talking about how important it was to sell LaLa on Chicago and the consensus was the Larsa Pippen was on that already.
