Which mock are you talking about?

Givony posted one mock draft four days ago that had us taking MPJ.

Today, ESPN posted a mock in which Givony, Schmitz and Pelton took turns making picks for the teams. Givony drafted WCJ for the Bulls, but MPJ was already off the board in this scenario, having gone to ORL. Givony did take WCJ even though Trae was still on the board.

For those bagging on GarPax:

https://670thescore.radio.com/bernstein-bulls-draft-history-next-guy-paxson-forman

So we go to the totals for the John Paxson/Gar Forman front office against the whole of those making the next selection, and it's a rout: 423.7 Win Shares to 210.1 since 2003. What this means can be left to those smarter or more statistically inclined than I, but it's at least worth a look. The various trades and valuations of assess relative to competitive opportunity at any time provide context these numbers don't, and time matters, too -- Win Shares is a cumulative stat, so success or failure in the past is weighted far more heavily.

It's just a way of apposing specific picks with the actual and immediate next best choice, at least according to someone else equally responsible for making it.

Deveny's latest says he's heard rumors the Hawks have ruled out JJJ (due to softness) and would take Doncic if he's there at 3. Though he said there's always misdirection this time of year. Although I personally don't see what rumors of ruling out JJJ at 3 would be misdirecting since he's not going top 2.

If that happens, I hope Trae goes #3...Now we'll have one of Bagley, Bamba, JJJ, and Luka fall into our laps.

imagge wrote:My Biggest Problem with drafting WCJ is the Bulls already have an abundance of PF with no Modern wings on the roster, 6'8 and above that can switch easily on Defense between the 2 3 and 4 positions. Drafting 7 the talent pools starts to even out and with all things the same the Bulls should draft the next bets wing if MPJ is gone or has not checked out health wise and in my opinion Knox has a higher ceiling, is longer and the type of player you take a swing at....would not want Mikal Bridges....good player but ceiling is lower than Knox and the Bulls need to take a swing at a guy who has a chance at becoming a star.....Knox has the tools to do so

Yeah, im starting to get down on that Knox band wagon myself. He's going to be great, especially under someone like Fred.

I don't see Divac passing on Doncic. Once he declared he's staying, he's going to have to deal with whomever decides to take him.

That would be insane if that happened. Throws off the whole top 8. It’ll be interesting tho.

All I need is Trae to go somewhere in the top 6. It sucks that we are at 7 as there is a considerable drop off after the top 6 prospects. Anyone from 2-6 can be interchangeable.

We had a historically good draft run.

But it's fallen off hard recently. And they've made several moves which quite plainly indicate they are struggling to operate within the modern NBA (selling Jordan Bell, the Niko trade, Felicio contract). No team willing to give Felicio that much money is operating well. It's mutually exclusive.

I'm hoping the Kings are not high on him and are willing to trade down. Offer #7 + #22 + Portis + Future Pick for #2.

MPJ & Trae all before 5 would certainly make things interesting. But this type of talk happens before a draft, especially when it's top heavy.

He's so NOT a wing. His ball handling is going to get destroyed by NBA defenders.

Even if we don’t move up, i think we would be missing a huge opportunity not using our cap space when there are tons of teams looking to offload contracts to go after FA this summer. We can get some really good assets. Young talents or draft picks. We own our destiny right now.

Carter would be a disappointment.

We have grave holes at every spot besides scoring big. But it's much easier to find a quality center through trade/free agency than it is to find quality wings or guards.

I really feel bad for Sacramento if Vlade decides to take a swing at someone else when they have the easiest selection to make of anyone in the draft... It's as simple as take whoever Phoenix doesn't.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did something. They've spoken on being able to absorb contracts to collect assets within the last year. They may do some dealing.

The Kings taking Porter and then somebody taking Trae ahead of us would be a dream scenario.
