After rebuilding his value, he probably wants a multi-year deal. The Bulls can't offer the MMLE anymore, so at best it would be the non-bird, which isn't much.

It's confusing though because the Bulls gave Dunleavy a multi-year. Maybe the 2nd year on Dunleavy's deal is non-guaranteed, but a detail like that would've leaked by now.

Theoretically if you could get Nate back:

Rose/Robinson
Butler/Hinrich
Deng/Dunleavy
Boozer/Gibson
Noah/Someone

Is looking a lot better and closer to balanced. Yes, having Teague not in the rotation on paper is a huge difference.

If every team is offering him the same, then more than likely he would take that from the Bulls.

I just wonder if Teague is the reason why the FO isn't bringing Nate back? Maybe they want him to get a shot to develop in game action?

From Nate's standpoint, if there's no real market for him, then re-signing with the Bulls makes sense. He would qualify for the Early Bird at season's end and the Bulls could pay him 175% of his previous salary to return to the Bulls or go to another team in a sign and trade.

If Teague is sent to D-league for a year, maybe Nate can take his place for this year.

As tweeted yesterday and wrote in today's Post, #Knicks discussed Nate Robinson with his agent yesterday but told club has minimal interest

Things aren't boding well for Nate at this point.

This plays into our hands well, assuming the reason we don't want him back isn't all about $.

Nates per 36 numbers are ridiculous. According to Ralph: Dunleavy is expected to play the 2G. End quote. That's not saying he wont play sf but the sg minutes are more than spoken for without having to crunch kirk in that rotation.

It will be interesting to hear the next waves of names that the bulls are interested in. It has dried up since they dropped the mmle.

They may go after a pg, the jl3 rumors run strong. For that of course u resign nate. But if the bulls go a different position for minimum I unstand it.

I think its still too early to say that. We can only hope it continues to linger.

Mr Funk wrote:Chicago Bulls Rumors

Free Agency: Chicago Bulls about to possibly offer Nate Robinson the MMLE and Marco Belinelli a 20% Raise or the MMLE? (Read More)

Via Sam Smith
Chicago Bulls willing to pay more luxury tax to re-sign Marco Belinelli. Problem is they'll only offer a 1 year deal. Chicago Bulls could offer Marco Belinelli a 1 year, $2.35m (Raise) or $3.18m (MMLE) in free agency assuming Sam Smith comments are valid.

Via Mike McGraw
He believes they could re-sign Nate Robinson but no room will be available for Belinelli who'll be let go. Believes they'll play a bench backcourt of Robinson, Hinrich, and a Shooter.

Via K.C. Johnson
Now believes the Bulls could use "some" of the MMLE.

Our predictions are this. We think the Bulls offer Nate Robinson a 1 year/$3.18m deal and Marco Belinelli a 20% raise so he'd earn 1yr/$2.35m. If Nate Robinson doesn't accept the deal, they could bump up the price and offer Belinelli a 1 year/$3.18m. One of them is likely to take the better deal possibly both. This is what we expect to happen.

Now the understanding here is Bulls Beatwriters believe a team will offer them a 3 or 4 year deal and they'll take the long term guarantee rather than a short term deal by the Bulls.

I bet Nate comes back but we lose Pasta.

Well this would be fantastic. If both sign (which I think would be a longshot) we'd be really stacked in the backcourt and wings. I wonder if this might be setting up for a trade at some point- possibly in season. Even without I like the depth going forward.

Maybe this is one of those things that Thibs and Gar have fought over. I hope not.

Did Nate really change any attitudes GM's have when it comes to his game? Everyone has always known he could score - but are the weaknesses that allowed the Bulls to pick him up off the scrap heap gone?

Is there any market for Nate? Are the Bulls best served just waiting and seeing if Nate wants to come back as the 13th guy on the roster?

Yes, he's still 5'9, which in amnesic retrospective viewpoints that don't take into account performance during the past season can be a hindrance.

He still has a bad shot selection and is a bad defender.

Bad defender, only 5'9 yadda yadda yadda

What about when he carried us into the 2nd round of the playoffs? An had a huge part in the game 1 victory vs the Heat.

Without Nate Robinson the Bulls would have lost to the Nets and would have been swept by the Heat. This dude was playing like a mini DRose
