If these guys are showing no signs or are not feeling any kind of sickness then why are they being tested? Need to move on from these joke protocols, these guys are not over 65 nor over 300 pounds with health issues! People need to wake up from this BS!

Exactly, spot on..

Do you guys really not have any idea how COVID testing works in the NBA?

Saw Lonzo trending on Twitter and came here for confirmation. Man, this sucks.

Totally expected, but still sucks.

Granted Omicron may or may not be a game changer as far as Covid spread. However NBA Covid policy is (or was) about stopping spread, which our friends have not understood.

That too. Some perception of the exact policy is seen through a lense of politics. which is why everyone here agrees the political angles are to be avoided.

At least all we have to do is get through these next 3 games. Then probably (hopefully? **** mutations) only Caruso will be at danger till the of the season.
Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.

Someone make a vaccine out of Caruso blood. That’s how this works right?

Man Lonzo must have left the Advocate Centre but stopped to get some milk on his way home and that's how he contracted it... He made one change to his routine and Boom Covid.

The city isn't mandating the Bulls test. I see a lot of dumb ignorant comments by yourself. I had a co-worker of mine who was under 45, and WAY under 300 pounds with no pre-existing health issues die of CoVid a few months back. Also a few other people I know ended up in the hospital. Luckily the NBA hasn't had any serious cases, but don't be a idiot.

I know the city isn't mandating the Bulls testing but look at the Suns. What are they doing the Bulls aren't? Open, no mandates here in AZ. Is that it? Herd immunity??

As for dumb ignorant comments..you mean common sense and not brainwashed?

Sorry and unfortunate for your co-worker but how does that relate to the NBA players being tested everyday despite being vaccinated? If they are not showing any symptoms, why are they being tested everyday?

How can you be an NBA fan and be this ignorant as to how COVID testing works in professional basketball?

Then answer why haven't the Suns had one guy on the list?

For those questioning this:

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/bulls-covid-outbreak-nba-postpones-chicagos-next-two-games-with-10-players-in-health-and-safety-protocols/

Bulls center Nikola Vucevic recently returned to game action after his own bout with COVID-19 in November. The Bulls have been testing players and coaches multiple times per day amid the team-wide outbreak. The good news is that Bulls players are vaccinated, so they're not dealing with too many severe symptoms.

https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/bulls/ct-chicago-bulls-coby-white-covid-19-daily-testing-20211201-mn4xdagxjnek3hhpatwvh6andq-story.html

The Chicago Bulls will reinstate daily COVID-19 testing after guard Coby White tested positive ahead of the team’s two-game trip to New York, coach Billy Donovan said Wednesday.

It does seem that NBA teams have some lattitude over how much they test. The Bulls at some point increased their test frequency . . . and then increased it again.

I'm not sure if this is a league requirement or voluntary. Regardless, this regimen would likely create a snowball type situation where one positive test leads to more testing, which leads to more positive tests, which leads to more testing.

If everyone was symptomatic, I'm not sure it would matter but most of the reports I have read are that the players are not symptomatic.

Anyone have any details on exactly what the requirements are?

Thank you for this.

I was actually curious if any of these guys were actually sick. Looks as if most haven't had any symptoms. That's crazy these guys are missing games and not even sick. No wonder Zach got a hair cut when he got forced to take a week off, lol

As bad as covid has been for many out there. Sooner or later we're just gonna have to learn to deal/live with it or we're going to have stuff like this for the remainder of how long they keep going with it.

The NBA tested everybody after the Thanksgiving holiday because of the increased congregating that would be occurring. The Bulls had a few positives, which of course led to the increased testing as mandated by the NBA and Players Association which caused more positives. It wasn't the city. It was the players union who didn't want a bunch of grandparents and young children of NBA players getting really sick because otherwise perfectly healthy players were catching and transmitting it to more vulnerable people. It's a public health issue.

The NBA did the same thing because of the Christmas holiday. And guess what?

Calling people brainwashed when you haven't done the basic legwork to understand the policy is really something. I never saw ignorance of something you are passionate about as a badge of honor but you do you I guess.

Do we stop testing after it goes thru the whole roster? Apparently we are one of teams and test more than others. I read the suns maybe test once or week or lesss (maybe that’s changed recently)

You know maybe this isn't the most cultured way to point it out but there is a BIG difference between Zach Lavine getting Covid and Stacey King getting Covid. We really need to try and protect the Kings of the world and if vaccinated a fit 20 something has almost zero risk, probably a 1/20000 chance of hospitalization whereas someone like King is closer to 1/20.

So, if Lonzo has 2 negative tests 24 hrs apart six days after going into the protocol, he can return? So could he be back for the 1/1 Wiz game?
