Sorry, I like Deng, but really? 3/15 against Australia and a 70-29 2nd half allowed?

This has nothing to do his wrist... it's a recurring thing (Philly series)... Lu needs an offensive creator passing to him, or else his (and the team's) offense is toast. Has the occasional hot shooting night, but you can't count on it. (NOT looking forward to the Hinrich-Deng show)

But anyway... hope these Olympics are an answer for anyone who thinks Deng can play SG... :-?

Deng at sg? Whoever thinks that is crazy. That hinrich-Deng show will be tough to watch.

After 3 quarters, they were 12 for 12 from the line.

Yeah, we dont really attack the basket though so we should be shooting a heap of free throws.

The 3 balls were the difference in the second half.

They were raining in.

Heading to the arena I thought I was in for two one sided games. How wrong was I? Shevd completely broke Mills at one point though. Mills just dropped on his ass. Big shot thoug, he's been incredible.

Lithuanua are a srange one, yet Tunisia deserve credit. They play hard team basketball.

So GB won a game, eh. Good for them. I believe that's it for GB which means it's decision time for Deng's wrist.

What's it gonna be Luol?

Decisions been made - Luol will wait until after this season to have surgery (if at all)

From KC's article this afternoon:

LONDON -- Luol Deng fulfilled his role as ambassador for basketball in Great Britain, which won its first Olympic game since 1948 in its final attempt with a 90-58 victory over China on Monday.

Then, he offered good news for Bulls fans, strongly implying he will either forgo surgery on the torn ligament in his left wrist altogether or postpone it until after the 2012-13 season.

"Did I look like I needed (surgery)?" Deng said. "I'm fine right now. I feel great. There are a lot of things I want to improve in my game that I want to focus on. I want to be a better player than I was last year.

"I have time to make decisions and be healthy by the time we start (training camp)."

With Bulls' camp roughly eight weeks away, it'd be impossible for Deng to have surgery now and be ready for start. Asked a second time about his decision, Deng made clear he planned to start camp on time.

"I'm just going to get ready for the season," Deng said.

The Tribune previously reported that Deng has told friends and associates he plans to avoid surgery. Coach Tom Thibodeau said last month that he is under the impression that's Deng's plan as well.

Now that his Olympic commitment has been fulfilled, Deng is proud of his decision.

"If the Olympics were next month, I'd play in them again," he said.

I didnt watch the game, but did russia genuinely try to win the game?
I understand that these euro coaches like to use their entire roster, but the minutes distribution for russia looked kinda odd.

If he is fine and doesn't need surgery, then why get it in another year?

I think from what Thibs said in his interview a month back and this article, did Deng have some miracle happen to him?
I feel it is more of a money issue. The Bulls do not want to look terrible without both Deng/Rose and have the season go bad which means less ratings and no post-season. After all, its a business.

I don't think the Bulls have anything to do with the decision though. Seemed the opposite in fact, that Deng was indicating he had made up his own mind, but had not told anybody initially. Now later it has come out that he is leaning against surgery, but I don't think the Bulls talked him into that.

Argentina is doing a great Job, but can't stop the 3pointers.

Chandler is the main key on defense.

I don't see this US team losing due to shooting no. Bad defense though.... yes. They better tigthen up the rotations and not go small so much.

Oh man, Argentina made 32 points in 10 minutes. USA would be down by 10-15, but they are making the threes.

Their (USA) Defense is embarrassing.

He should have took the summer off. If he looks this shaky next season, Lakers new juggernaut may be in danger.
