We really cannot afford Boozer, Taj and Mirotic. So Mirotic has to be legit because we will have to either trade Taj away ( which would be ok ) or amnesty Boozer ( more likely ). But unless Taj learns to shoot, we need Boozer. So it will be tough to get Niko.

Its 100% Boozer will be gone by the time Nikola makes his way over - either through amnesty or his contract expiring.

I believe that the Magic were still disillusioned into thinking that Dwight Howard was staying, which prompted the move that you outlined above. IMO, they didn't want to commit big money because they were hoping Dwight would opt to re-sign & they could use the extra money for another star to pacify Dwight.

That's not true. Orlando at no point thought Dwight was going to stay this summer. The ship had CLEARLY sailed on that. The only player of significance that the Magic took on was Aaron Afflalo who has long term salary. And of course, the Bulls and other teams would likely give you shorter contracts to get Afflalo.
