@WojYahooNBA: As one source in process says of Lakers bid, "They can promise max money without any (roster) moves needing to be made." 4 years, $97M.

Lakers have moved into serious contention on Carmelo Anthony, multiple sources tell Yahoo. "In the game now," one source close to Melo says.
If Woj says it, I stand corrected and am shocked that the Lakers would even be in the conversation. At a basketball stand point, it doesnt make sense. That team will not be a top 5 seed in the playoffs. Best case scenario is Farmer/Kobe/Melo/Randle/Gasol. Just doesnt look good at all and would give up 80 points at halftime.
Chicago/New York/Los Angeles. Who would have thought.....
Honestly, that tells me this is not about basketball. I have to imagine that we are not realistically in the running anymore.

Makes as much sense as the Knicks from a basketball standpoint. Neither team can compete, both teams will have capspace to play with in a few years.
Plus on the Knicks, he has to play with JR Smith and Bargnani, and deal with a terrible owner.

Lol. If he goes to the Lakers who cares! He would be out of the East on a bad team. That team would have no chance in the West. Kobe is my guy but that would be hilarious.

Not all wives are created equal. Some are damn cool when it comes to stuff like this.
Being a husband....the kind that wants to stay married for the rest of his life...means you put your wife first. Not wife 1a and career 1b. But wife is first. Some of the attitudes i see here go to great lengths to explain our divorce rate. Being a wife is not about being "cool". Its about being a wife. When you marry, your family should trump all. People don't live to work. They work to live.
The divorce rate is so high because women believe this.
(not the family part and the work stuff...but the nonsense about wives being bosses and wives not needing to be "cool,' whatever the hell that means. what the hell happened to an equal partnership?)

Bron gets a raise in ny or la from Nike anyhow of 10mil as was discussed already, and TWC was there our thing to Melo as well so its fair to say LaLa would get some bank for a show which isn't illegal since unlike Dolan/msg, TWC doesn't own any laker stock
Those are some pretty strong selling points if true. Especially the show for LaLa. My God her name is LA.. LA, all her friends are there. Very appealing and a smart, strong way to get Melo to LA. We were talking about how important it was to sell LaLa on Chicago and the consensus was the Larsa Pippen was on that already.
There have been multiple times that la la and Vanessa have been seen together, last year when Dwight left, they were seen eating together. They actually get along, SAS, trumpeted that their kids even play together in the summers. Its rare to hear a Vanessa is friends with story but her and La La are, like Kobe and Melo are, and their kids are which you can even go back to the asg where melo was traded from Denver and see their families together at the autograph signings

Anyway, word is, in the office, Melo's attorney's are heading into Chicago tomorrow. That is all I got.

Because the roster is sh*t and bereft of talent.
Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

Re: Melo 17: Death or Glory
If he does consider LA as a real target, it has to be all about the lifestyle. Its hard to blame him, but its not purely a basketball decision--that much we can all agree on.

Who would be our toughest competition on the EC? We would be favorites to make the Finals with a healthy Rose. If we could get Stephenson away from Indy, we could really rule the East.
Yeah if Lebron leaves for the West, I wouldn't be that bummed out if Melo stays with the Knicks. Pacers would definitely be the biggest threat to us. Other than that........yeah, this conference is weak.

While it would be nice to make it to the finals, we'd get slaughtered. I'm most concerned with having the best team we can have.
