This is probably going to be our Marbury-Garnett. Marbury also wanted to be "the guy" on the force. We may really going on the point where Bulls will need to decide to ride with with who will they ride, and I have feel it wont be our marbury.

If so what is good enough to voice their opinion?
If there is a "Good Enough" point, then the whole argument makes no sense.
You either CAN call out your coach or you CANT. Which one is it?
Easy. You can't. Period. Any more than I can go publicly in front of my customers and call out my boss and expect to keep a job. If Jimmy has a problem, talk to fred. If he still has a problem, talk to Gar/Pax. If he still has a problem, talk to Jerry. If he still has a problem, ask to be traded (privately) as soon as possible. If they won't trade him, he can quit.
The issue with this is that you're presuming Butler hasn't talked with Hoiberg about this, be it on Saturday night or the myriad other times that it would have been appropriate as You Know Who walks the ball up court slowly
And if he has, and didn't like the answer, that makes it OK to go whine to the press? That's ridiculous. Go to management. If they don't do exactly what you want to when you whine like a baby then ask to be traded and go be someone else's problem.
Jimmy is getting paid 90 mil over the next few years to play SG. Someone forgot to tell him he isn't the head coach.

I really hope Fred stands firm and gets to run his sets, I can't stand more ISO calls and ugly basketball.

- Right now, the Bulls have played 15 home games (11-4) and 10 road games (4-6). That obviously changes going forward. They have a point differential of +1.0 (10th in conference) and are 0.5 games out of the 9th spot. The metrics right now point to Chicago MISSING THE PLAYOFFS! The status quo is not good and someone has to do something about it.
- I don't see where Butler is calling for Thibodeau. If anything, Thibodeau's biggest failing was not calling out individuals. Butler is being very consistent in not being happy with either of them.
- And yes, everyone here is right that the team played like this last year. Lots of people blamed the coach, including the front office, and the front office was completely wrong. I don't know who the trouble maker is. I suspect its Pau or Rose but with his play and euro history, it might be Mirotic too. Regardless, an insider needs to figure out who the poison is and either bench or trade them.
Kudos to Jimmy here for doing what Thibodeau should have done, Fred should be doing and what the front office should have understood!!!!
For all the handwringing over these comments, there's not all that much to lose, and possibly some upside. Perfectly written.

Sure. Let's really do it right though. Let's interview every player and ask them to tell us everything they think is wrong with their teammates, their coach, the organization, the staff. That will accomplish a lot of things. Yeah, Fred should be out their calling out Derrick Rose and Niko Mirotic because one sucks and the other won't push the ball...while Jimmy goes ISO 10 times a game and ALSO walks the ball up the court multiple times per game. Jimmy is the 2nd biggest offender on the team at not doing what the coach asks and he is the one running his mouth?

After losing back to back games Jimmy is simply using Coach Hoiberg as a scapegoat to his frustrations. If the Bulls continue to lose and fall out of playoff contention, expect to hear Jimmy voice his displeasure directly at his teammates i.e. Rose, Niko, Snell.

that's why derrick is true leader. hope we can fetch cousins, bellineli, mclemore and gay for jimmy, kings pick, taj, niko, snell, our 2x future first round picks
He actually said they needed a SG for the playoffs in 2011, throwing Bogans under the bus, and joked it could be Obama.

Jimmy needs to re-install his rear view mirror so he can look in it now and then.

Without knowing the specifics of what Jimmy was talking about, these scenarios do us no good.
Whatever was written on the white board, Jimmy says wasn't being done during the game, and Hoiberg let it go. Whatever it was, it's not a stretch that this has happened often with Hoiberg. You don't go ballistic in the media over a one time occurance

Jimmy has become an entirely different public persona in the last year, and it isn't an improvement. Jimmy is the 2nd worst offender at not doing what his head coach wants him to, yet thinks he can call out his coach for not addressing the worst offender. Trade him now.
As far as the specifics, that is part of the problem. everyone gets to make their own assumptions. If you're such a big shot you think you can run your mouth and throw coaches and teammates under the bus, call them by their name.

The agenda is strong with you.
Rose made a joke about Obama playing SG at a freaking political fundraiser for Obama. Incredible how you can twist that around.

When this is coming from your best player, then whether helpful or unhelpful being said to the media, the *bigger* problem is the reason the comments were said in the first place. The bigger problem is not the comments.
You can trade Butler off the team tomorrow, you really think that is going to make the rest of these clowns start listening to the coach or playing 24/7.
Course not, and if you brought in a worse attitude and effort guy than Butler (like Cousins), the team would likely turn into an even bigger dumpster fire.
There is something rotten with this roster been saying it for a while now, and its not started with these comments. It has caused these comments, which might not make it any better. But that's what we have.

You think he picked SG out of the blue? And guess what, he wasn't wrong. Just like Butler isn't now. We did need a SG. And this team does need a big kick in the pants.
I don't have a side in this. It's juvenile the Rose / Butler split on this board. Too many care about defending 'their guy' more than how the team is playing.
Neither one is a great leader from what I've seen. Or this team would have its act together.

I'm thinking he picked SG because Obama is not 7 feet tall.
I mean, not a single person took his comment as throwing Bogans under the boss. It's somewhat shocking that you even remembered that.

If anyone would do it, I would package Rose and Butler together and trade them tomorrow. They have both become detriments to the team in opposite ways.

Well, it is an untidy affair yes. I just don't think there was a ton to lose the way this team plays, and if anything, the team might just spark.

Jimmy isn't the leader of this team, he tried and failed to be that this summer. That's why he's saying this stuff, because he isn't the leader but would like to be.
As fas 'what the team looks like', it looks exactly the same as last year, who was the leader then, Noah?
This team needs to be turned upside down and rearranged. It's about the talent not about who speaks up or not or is the 'leader'. The balance isn't there the talent isn't there and until the FO wakes up to this, its probably going to get uglier and uglier as the team fails to live up to misplaced expectations.

Maybe this is what had to be done, they'll go trade their best player because he made the team look bad in PR, instead of all the incompetents on the floor they should have been upgrading the last 2 years.
