Just seems real presumptive IMO to limit a guy's ceiling on "first step" when we can see that agility, strength, skill, IQ, is more important, and Cunningham seems to have plenty of that stuff. It's not like he's Doug McDermott.
Definitely don't need an elite first step. I do think you need a game-breaking attribute, though. Strength + craft in Luka's case. Shooting + feel in Steph's. Not sure that's surfaced with Cade in college yet, at least not to the level that was billed. For me, the eye test and stat profile (57 TS%, 21 PER, good but not great on/off) leave something to be desired.
His presumptive #1 status is built on prep play and archetype, which are both plenty meaningful, but at some point he's got to dominate at OSU, right?
