This US team needs Thibs as an assistant. Instead of pringles. Defense is horrible.

USA defense is horrid. They need to recruit some big men to play. They can't stop people at the rim. This is the 2nd game I've seen where the USA is letting teams score layups on multiple possessions in a row. I'm actually starting to think the 2010 team could beat these guys. Shaky tourney so far for Team USA defensively. They look vulnerable to me.

Well as poorly as US played defensively in that first half against probably the savviest, most experienced team in the world, they still lead by 1. US can definitely be beaten, but it's gonna take a near flawless effort for an entire 4 quarters to do so. Don't know if anyone has that kind of effort in them. We'll see though.

THIS! They coulda definitely used another BIG. Even someone like Greg Monroe, or Hibbard....
And whoever said they need a Thibs, and that Kobe should maybe sit down, AMEN!

Watching team usa play makes me root against them. Their brand of basketball is just ugly compared to other teams.
Argentina plays beautiful team basketball. They keep it simple, use eachother to get open, make the correct pass and make open shots. The game can be so simple if you just execute easy plays. Argentina and lithuania werent nearly as talented as team usa, but they play a better brand of basketball and thats why theyre able to keep it close.
To use a boxing analogy, watching this game is like watching a savvy counterpuncher vs a more physically talented mindless brawler who only knows how to come forward. LIT and ARG are just using team USAs mindless aggression defensively against them. The opposition doesnt even need to draw and kick since USAs ultra aggressive, scrambling defense has automatic traps and doubles built into it. All they need to do is hit the open man.

I really like Chandler's aggressiveness on both ends of the court.

EDIT: Dammit, he got his fourth!

LeBron beasts out for the offensive rebound and put back, goes over to defend Manu and doesn't bite on the killer pump fake, then leads the fast break like Magic freaking Johnson for the dunk. He's in his own stratosphere right now. Wow.

yeah, I think he's hurting the team at this point. CP3, Durant and lebron have got it going though.

At least when Chuck decided to send a message he did it in full view of everyone. He didn't try to hide it.

Cheap shot right there from Argentina.

There is two sides to that team. One might be beautiful basketball as Manram said, but the flopping and cheap shots, eh.

Take your beating and try another day.

USA 126 - 97 ARG......

Team USA with 20 3pointers.

Second half was totally different, compared to half one. However, their defense isn't examplary, but who cares, when you kill every other team on offense. I don't see a team with real chances to beat Team USA.

argentina's PG threw a nutshot on a carmelo 3.

i guess it was in retaliation for a shot that the same PG got from cp3 in the first half.

Harden disrespectfully shooting that 3 was the most classless thing to happen in that game.
