Wow such sad news for Pat..It is imperative that we now starting looking around for expiring PFs that can come in and play good minutes. Obviously we can play small with Green for example but someone expiring with real size via trade is what we need to go find. Remember we also have that 5 mil TPE to trade and then just release Thomas. If not that then flipping DJJ or Brown for a PF expiring makes a lot of sense as well.

Green should start and honestly he earned that starting spot. I'm not of the belief that we have to have a sense of urgency to add another big I think the improvement can be internal as Bradley in spot minutes and giving Derrick Jones Jr a run could improve us. But I think green can flourish in his new starting role.

The rebounding issue is not about size as we get killed with giving up offensive boards only because we are trying to dart out in transition to get quick scores instead of focusing on securing the boards. Green can help fix that and also give us the energy we need with the starting line up to start games more energetic to stop the slow starts. So this could be addition by subtraction although I feel horrible for patrick williams

Setting aside the fact this is plainly awful news, I’m not devastated about what this means for the present. Prior to the Knicks game, Pat was a negative and we’d have been better off shifting minutes away from him.

As for the future, having your best upside piece miss two training camps and his entire sophomore season is nothing short of catastrophic. This is career and possibly franchise-changing stuff here.

I hope he has a better year next year because I know it’s early but I don’t think he would have had a huge impact this year. He has the size and build but idk I’m hoping he will be a late bloomer like jimmy but only time will tell.

Terrible news for young Patrick.
Terrible news for the Bulls who are anemic at the PF position. Banking on Patrick to be our only real PF was always a high risk move, now worst case scenario has happened.

I think this forces AKME's hand in moving Coby and/or the Portland pick and/or DJJ's contract for a starting PF. They can't afford to have made all these moves to have the Bulls only be the same as last year's Bulls.
