Re: Stephen A. Smith: LeBron to join Bosh in Miami
IF you look at SAS's Twitter, he's been hyping up new LeBron info the whole weekend, yet in his interviews on radio shows he said he found out from his source last night that he's going to Miami....
So which is it? Did he know something all weekend about LeBron that caused him to string people along so that they listen to his radio show on Monday morning, or was it Sunday night's breaking news he received?
Something is not adding up.

In fact, he says they can't even offer 2 and a half max deals. With Beasley and James Jones under contract, Miami cannot score the three headed monster that SAS claims that they can.
Just a little hope there
A little false hope. James Jones's contract is only partially guaranteed and will be bought out and that will open up the opportunity to sign three max free agents (Wade included).
No - buying out James Jones contract still does not open up 3 max slots. You'd have to trade Beasley to do that.

While I do not take SAS seriously but I begin to think it's not really SAS on twitter.

What did he need to own up to? He made it and it's out in public. It's not like he's gonna deny that he said that.
SAS is getting a ton of play.
He won the internet for today.
He sure did. But like I asked earlier..IF Stephen A. Smith had this big scoop about Bron, Wade, and Bosh going to Miami..how, as a journalist, does he sit on it for 24 hours? Tweeting away about this scoop, "tune in" pimping his show. Does he believe that his "source" is the only guy involved with all 3 of Lebron, Bosh, and Wade not to mention all the organizations, that could possibly have inside knowledge of this? What happens when some other reporter with a source, close to one of the Agents, Players, Organizations comes out and beats Stephen A. to the punch? Then that reporter does his rounds on every radio station and Sportscenter. Would Stephen A. really risk losing the opportunity to do the rounds and pimp himself as the guy in the know by holding onto his story for 24 hours? Just doesn't add up.
Edit: how did sitting on a story work out for KC? Someone else got the scoop, and KC scrambled to say "look at me, look at me, I knew first". But i'm sure Stephen A. wouldn't mind not getting any of this attention.

^^^^You seeing this as well?
The whole weekend he was pimping his brand new announcement begging for people to listen to his show Monday morning.
Now looking over it, the timeline of his tweets and the supposed info he received is not matching.

I think SAS sat on it because his 'scoop' was just someone speculating on what's already been speculated about.
That Miami could get 3 guys.
Who would play center on that team? Bosh would have to tons of minutes per game

quite frankly, I find it absurd.
not saying Screamin' Stephen doesn't have sources, i'm sure he does. You don't work as an NBA journalist as long as he has and not get close to people. But in this instance it really seems he's feeling left out in all of the hype. AND NOBODY puts Stephen in the corner.

He may be receiving info in portions. The post draft talk was mostly pro-Heat but nothing definitive. Now he's gone well into definitive speculation.
I think his Pro-Heat agenda is more an indication of the Knicks having no chance. He's a true Knicks fan, so he'd never push a Pro-Bulls agenda, but he can try to attach himself to all Heat FA talk, similar to how Broussard had attached himself to the Bulls FA agenda.

I think it's a load of crap.
An earlier tweet of his says, "Once again....I believe I have all the news on LeBron James and WHERE HE'S GOING. Tune into the Stephen A. Smith Show on Fox Sports Radio."
I think he's just saying random, bold statements so his show will get more attention.

Oddly enough, ESPN.com has not acknowledged his report in any way. The NY Times report was on their front page within a couple of hours.
They must not think so highly of his sources/opinions or none of their guys had any luck confirming his news.

Re: Stephen A. Smith: LeBron to join Bosh in Miami
For all we know, Maverick Carter could be telling SAS that LeBron/Bosh are going to Miami and WWW could be telling Broussard that LeBron/Bosh are going to the Bulls. Meanwhile, LeBron is going to hold his little summit in Ohio and make his decision the old fashioned way, by evaluating his opportunities taking all of the facts and presentations into consideration. I finally read something outside of ESPN today that makes some sense:

Only a couple of more days of speculation and then we can hear the buzz about these meetings for a week until he finally actually makes a decision...

ESPN is more likely to just have one of their guys repeat the story and take credit for it.

Actually, Broussard was saying CLE / CHI neck and neck, now he mentions Miami....
Doug needs to get some new confirmation from his own source. Wondering if it was more dated news?
Sam Smith seems to be throwing wrenches all over the place too. Though he has long been taking pot shots at the LeBron to Chicago idea.
CHI-MIAMI emerging as frontrunners for LJ. CLE not dead, but...

Uh oh.
Just to point out again, if the summit did occur, everyone seems to agree that Lebron did not commit.
So SAS lied.
No. Freaking. Way.
I know huh?

He also said that Wade will take the pressure off of LeBron but he essentially refused to recognize Rose as being able to do so. And then he basically said that the Bulls will end up with nothing and might have an "injured" Carlos Boozer. What a joke.
