I've heard rumblings before that he's a bit of a loner and doesn't really have friends on the team, so that could just be normal for him.

I hadn’t heard that, but now makes sense. Still surprising that he was so not into it. You’d think the dude at least likes basketball a little.

^I knew Jabari didn't get on well with Kidd... now that he's gone, I'm not sure what to make of that. If you're out for so long it's easy to get disengaged in the games, but beyond that hey may just not get on great with his teammates, for sure. He seems like a really stand up guy though.

I think he would really love to come to Chicago.

He'd be another scorer who needs the ball a lot to be effective. With a shaky three point shot to boot.

Not a Parker hater, but not in any way crazy about him either.

Shooting at every position is paramount in today's NBA, but a player can still have a defensive / jack-of-all-trades mindset, which would be the most valuable for the future Bulls core.

I think this may have something to do with it.

“It was kind of really hard for me to accept,” Parker said, noting that he saw Johnson every day and looked forward to their time together. "Not having him by my side is really going to be hard for me.”

Parker definitely has his on-ball scoring abilities, but from what I've seen he's also excelled as a spot up shooter and off-ball cutter. I think he's all you would want in a role playing forward with the creation abilities to boot.

His 3 ball really came on in year 3 - obviously there's only 1 season of good shooting to go on because he got injured, but I'm pretty confident he's a solid shooter from here on out.

He's not a defender, and for that reason someone in the mold of a Oubre or Mikal Bridges makes more sense for us at SF, but I do think it's an interesting alternative. Perhaps you can get both a 3/D wing and have Parker swapping between either forward spot, with Markannen playing C at times.

I understand people not liking the fit but he still intrigues me. Really dynamic talent when healthy.

I love Jabari but I'm not trying to brace myself nightly for his inevitable next long term injury

We already have Lavine to deal with.

Westbrook dealt with something like theirs but he's 2x as good as he was before the injury. That doesn't normally happen.

Wait til 2020 for Kristaps & AD

Jabari would be a geat 6th man type, play as a socring tandem with Val and Bobby off the bench, that would be nice!

Read on Twitter

Mirotic/Holiday/Grant for Bradley/Marjanovic/Johnson/DET 1st

Lets get it done. 3 pieces to help Pistons with their playoff run, we take on Marjanovic but get an expiring, Johnson as a project (probably nothing) and another 1st.

Isn't dumping Bradley a tank-move? If so, why would they want to get better now?

Because they're not likely tanking. They have their core locked in for 2+ years Jackson/Drummond/Harris. They have very little cap space if any if I recall. And their pick as it stands would be 14 likely not going to net them anything they need to compete next year. We give them the back up/starting caliber guard with Grant, a scorer and guard help at the SG with Holiday and perfect fitting PF next to Drummond in Mirtoic.

They'd be ready to make a push for playoffs this year and could be a top 6 team next year in East.

Bradley is great but there is a fit issue here with LaVine. LaVine isn't big enough to swing over to the 3. And neither Bradley nor LaVine can play the PG spot particularly well.

If Cleveland was interested in moving Love, Bradley would be a great target for them with Lebron doing a lot of the point guard stuff. Or, if Reggie Jackson isn't going to be healthy this year and the Pistons want to take a chance on the "next" IT?

The Sixers also would be a great team for Bradley, although not sure what they would offer. Avery Bradley is expiring, so sending their mid-round first seems like an overpay.

If you were able to get that... You take it and then flip Bradley for another late first or young player. Would be a great deal, but not sure that we'll be able to get that package.

As for Bulls trades, here are some Niko trades that I like:

(1) Niko to Portland for Al-Aminu and Noah Vonleh. Vonleh is cap filler. Al-Aminu is a 3&D wing who Portland plays out of position at the 4. He's actually a premier wing defender, but rather "meh" on the offensive end.

(2) Niko to Utah for Joe Johnson and a top 10 protected first. [But Utah doesn't seem to be willing to part with a first]

(3) Niko + Felicio to Utah for Rodney Hood, Thabo (injured, one more year on his deal) and Joe Johnson. [Utah keeps its picks and gets Niko at the expense of taking on Felicio's 8 million per year and giving up Hood, who doesn't seem to be in their plans. Chicago gets to kick the tires on Hood and have matching rights in the offseason, where Hood is large enough to play the 3. Johnson gets bought out].

(4) Justin Holiday to San Antonio for their first round pick - San Antonio is overpaying here, but they need value contracts (which Holiday's is) and with Kwahi out, they need depth on the wing.

This is the problem with many players. He's all you'd want except for the other half of the game you'd want (defense).

Sure, but the complete player you seek is largely unavailable through trades or free agency.

True, the free agent class absolutely sucks this summer, but in considering the injury history also, there are wings I'd far prefer in free agency, such as:

Tyreke Evans
umm, I guess that might be it haha

I haven't looked much at the trade market but yeah we're screwed for what we need at SF. Evans even I see more as a high minute 6th man who can defend three spots decently.

Maybe Jabari would welcome fresh start in Chicago..but where to play him? We already have logjam at PF!?
Unless Miro goes and Portis moves 100% to backup C spot

Return to Chicago Bulls
