I think on 670 they were saying Dwayne Casey would get some very serious consideration, in that they had him as a finalist for the job last time.

The Bulls reportedly are eager to secure a replacement with previous head coaching experience and are expected to focus their search on Mavericks assistant Dwane Casey, fomer Nets coaches Byron Scott and Lawrence Frank, former Mavs coach Avery Johnson and former Bulls coach Doug Collins, who already has interviewed for the Sixers' opening. Broadcaster and former player Mark Jackson, who has drawn interest from the Clippers, Sixers, Hornets and Nets, would seem to be a long shot for the Chicago job given how Del Negro -- a former player with no head coaching experience -- didn't work out.

This link is says a little about every candidates, thought this was interesting though

Eric Musselman

The former Kings and Warriors head coach has long been a favorite of John Paxson. Musselman was coach of the year runner-up for the 2002-03 season. He currently works for Fox Sports Radio.

Honestly, what other options are there?

I'd be fine with Bryon or Doug, maybe even Lawrence. I'm not entirely sure about Casey, though some rave about him.

Though the focus will immediately turn to a coaching search that could include such candidates as Doug Collins, Maurice Cheeks, Eric Musselman, Phil Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy, Byron Scott, Sam Mitchell, Tom Thibodeau, Lawrence Frank, Dwane Casey, Avery Johnson and John Calipari, the Del Negro era goes out with something of a bang.

Wojanowski tweeted that the assistants didnt even know VDN was gone and that the only reason that Rose began to flourish was due to Paxson's intervention, as per the front office

Way to go ESPN! What insightful news, just throw in any coach with coaching experience and hope that one of them sticks. Great work!

They did mention something interesting on the radio, that the split began to happen because Vinny actually started going away from his professed gameplan when he took the job and presented his bonafides to Paxson.

But this is no excuse really, you can't expect a guy that has never coached before to hold true to his battle plans once the first shot is fired and he's in the middle of it. They should have known his binder of secrets was just his uninitiated idea of what a coaching plan would be.

I'd like to see Reggie Theus as an assistant to whoever we hire.

Byron Scott + Reggie Theus would be amazing for Rose.

Will UTEP allow Tim Floyd to interview?

What on earth does that mean? Because of Paxson's intervention?

Who cares about the assistance, I want an entire overhaul of the entire coaching staff. The only guys I want to keep is Randy and Hunter.

That couldn't be a worse combination to have for a franchise.

Both have been claimed to be extremely lazy in regards to preparation, from what I've heard and read anyway.

I've been hearing a lot that Bryon is somewhat lazy, and someone you'd think twice about going to war with. As for Reggie, the same thing has been said about him, that he likes the fame, and he is somewhat of a capable coach but ultimately is lazy also, and takes shorts cuts.
