Don't forget Ralph called the Korver to ATL deal. What he says may not happen, but he's legit.

He also once sent me an SMS about a potential James Johnson to Toronto deal, the morning of the day it happened, though I have no way of proving that I guess.

Exactly! I don't even think its worth giving up only Deng to get him. Rip for CJ Miles is pretty pointless too.

And he only makes $3M a year more than Humph, whom I assume we would have to take back. For $12M a year Humph is giving them 8 points & 8 boards a game. Reggie Evans actually plays meaningful minutes at the 4 spot for them.

If I were the Nets, I'd easily swap Humph for Boozer. Nets would get the better player, and Chicago can continue to penny pinch.

i dont know if

dwill
joe johnson
gerald wallace
boozer
lopez

can survive vs the heat.

they will have to improve their bench significantly to compete with the heat in the ECF.
they should try to get anthony morrow or kyle korver from the hawks. maybe get a defensive big to complement lopez and boozer

Guess what. We should make that trade and unload Rip and get Redick or Kyle back or Morrow or another 3 pt shooter and a bench big because

Rose/Kirk
Redick/ Morrow or Kyle
Deng/Jimmy
Hump/Taj
Noah/ ?

Nate 6th man

is a better lineup than that Brooklyn one. With a better bench. That Brooklyn team would have the worst defensive frontcourt in the NBA. NO CHANCE.

I think both of these work

Deng and Rip for Jefferson and Hayward or Jefferson and Burks

Then what? Amnesty Boozer?

Rose Teague
Jimmy Kirk
Hayward or Burks? Jimmy
Nikola Taj
Noah

Plus our picks and the Charlotte Pick going forward? And capspace?

Well let's be serious here..

Brooklyn is desperate to continue improving at any cost...

Humphries is expiring...

Boozer is attractive to them for a few reasons (that they'd probably regret), but no doubt Deron would push for him...

Even if we don't get Humphries, at the very least a 3-way is very possible.

Thanks for the info, from what you say there is more talk than it appears it is possible, i mean, this year in contrast with previous ones our team looks locked up. Rip for something to get under the tax looks like an inveitable deadline trade, but that's about it. Nice to know that there is some more talk. Of the players named jefferson is the one i'm more interested in. He can score, he is not efficient at all, but he can put the ball in the basket, and if he doesn't work just let him walk in summer, i admit i was always a fan of him, some really good moves in the post.
But the most interesting part i s the boozer interest. The one thing that this FO showed they are top tier is moving bad contracts.

Like someone said we are probably not their #1 choice to deal with. I imagine they would love to get Pau over there. But thats unlikely since the lakers do not deal in anything but one sided deals lol.

I would love to have deng and hump as expirings going into next season. And imo the nets do improve with boozer.

....is about good of a starting 5 as you can get right now considering who will be available via free agency or trade in the future. And with the restrictions to tax paying teams the nets have limited options to improve over the next few years. And they absolutely are in win now mode imo because of their contracts.

I really think people are overrating this Brooklyn team. I would love to dump Boozers contract for Hump though and pick up a shooter as well..

either way

Without making a move..Our starting 5, with Rose, is better. I'll take Rose over Deron, Deng over Crash and Jo over Lopez every time.

Rose> Deron
Rip< JJ
Deng> Crash
Boozer=Boozer
Noah>Lopez

and honestly, Joe Johnson has historically been a terrible big game and playoff performer. He'll have a big game here and there but he'll single-handedly take you out of most series and has for years.

I'll take the Bulls with a healthy Rose over that Net team in a 7 game series. Even if we did a Boozer dump for Humphries deal. When Nate moves to a 6th man role, it gives us a spark off the bench. Kirk, Taj , Jimmy gives the bench some D and we have Nate and Marco who can both shoot. With a shortened playoff rotation, we can take that team. I would start Taj over Humphries for sure though.

probably, but he will be making 3 million less and will be expiring 1 year sooner. No trade we make this year or next will put us over the top so every move must be made with 2014 and beyond in mind.

I mean if we could do Boozer for Love or Aldridge then great. But thats not going to happen.

Yup.. If we can get rid of Boozers contract for Humps expiring, DO IT. It gives us more flexibility now and in the future. It would be a freaking miracle as far as I'm concerned to not have to amnesty Boozer and trade him now.

i agree we are better then bky at full health. But then you still got miami, okc and lal (eventually they will get it together) as teams that we will not be able to beat in a 7 game series. Hell, even memphis and san antonio would be tough.

If Chicago decides to keep booz and try at another title next season im fine with that. They will have to put up some big $$$ to do so though. Maybe get a decent enough 2 guard with the 5 mil trade exception.

But my guess is they dont pay serious tax money for a "maybe" team.

I just cannot see winning with Boozer. I just don't see him getting it done in big moments. I would trust Taj more, even right now, in a series against Miami or the Knicks before I trust Boozer.

If we have to worry about OKC or the Lakers or Spurs, that means we got through Miami, Boston the Nyets and the Knicks. Right now, getting to the NBA Finals is the goal. Once you're there anything can happen. Miami is going to be favorites against anyone for the next couple years.

Looking ahead a couple of years, Rose, Deng (if he's still here), Taj and Noah (and Jimmy if he keeps developing) will be in their primes. Hopefully Mirotic is here. The future looks bright. Boston, as currently constructed won't. Wade will be breaking down.. Kobe and Nash will be retired.

I'm older so I remember the trials and tribulations the dynasty team went through before reaching the promised land. There really is a lot to be said for keeping a core together and letting them go through that. Boozer won't be a part that kind of organic growth here, so move him now if you can without having to amnesty him.

I hope that Nets want Boozer i would trade Booz for Humpries in a second! I dont want Dudley and im not sure i want Gortat! Al would also be good if he is expiring and we can get rid of Boozer with third team help for him!
i m not that big fan of Reddick especially if he would start! and why would we want Jimmer, thats the one that makes less sense to me than all the other rumors you posted!

Gortat's a really good center. He rebounds well, is solid defensively, moves his feet, and can occasionally stick a 14 foot jumper.

Noah can play the PF position easily. We'd struggle with offense from the front court with a Noah, Gortat, Taj, but everything else would be good.

It'll be interesting to see what the FO does with the front court. I hope they don't think Mirotic is enough offense in the front court...We'll need to get baskets closer to the rim from people other than Derrick and occasionally Luol.
