Glad to see the progress on Derrick, but it's kinda bittersweet, given the front office basically gave up on this year.

DailyHerald/McGraw blog post about it: http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/7274

(also rips the SunTimes for trying to sound like they scooped something since basically any return date is 'weeks away')

Rose could be seen running sprints on Monday at the Berto Center. More specifically, he could be seen finishing sprints. He started in the weight room and ended in the gym, allowing reporters to catch a glimpse of the recovering star.

The estimated length of his sprints is probably 20 or 30 yards and it’s the first time a Rose workout has been visible to reporters at the Berto Center since before the circus road trip.

It’s been written here repeatedly that the all-star break (Feb. 16-17) is a reasonable estimate for Rose’s return. Late January would be a best-case scenario, early March a cautious scenario. In all three outcomes, Rose is “weeks away” from returning to practice.

Yeah, because he dunked so often before the injury

The fact is he could DUNK "Mr. Roll Eyes" lol...Just saying by posting he is running is going to get peoples hopes up he will return soon, instead of waiting for the big news... He is Dunking, cutting, scrimmaging. NOT Running!

He needs to hurry and get back all the people that are worried about him coming back to early, probably have never experienced a serious injury while playing. I know its no comparison with street ball and the NBA, but I know that this injury more then anything now is Mental and I say the sooner he can get his confidence back I'm all for it. Remember that even if he doesn't play this year like I'm sure tons of people want in Chicago, it doesn't guarantee that this injury wont occur again, maybe lessens the chance but who knows what the actual numbers are with stuff like that. He needs to come out ASAP and get back on his grind that's the most important thing. All this stuff about the management should wait is all mumbo jumbo I see what Adrian Peterson has done this year and I know the sports are not the same, but one thing I'd say AP and Rose have in common is they have EXCELLENT work ethic and the quicker you can put them in there zone the better off they will be.

So . . . Rose is going to be back at practice (reportedly by rumor) around mid december. Interesting.

Edit add: And yes, that was me trolling. Deal with it.

The funny thing is, they are probably closer to being correct than trolling.

The thing to me is, this year there is alot of precedence concerning this injury.

Rubio has been cleared to practice. Lets see how long before he plays.
Shumpert who got injured the same day as Derrick has said he is back in January. Lets see if that's that case.

In still sticking with late January early Feb.

The late date would be right after the allstar game.

This news is huge. Deserves it's own thread. If Drose is practicing by about December 25th, then we SHOULD have him back by mid to late January. Rubio is going to be playing on December 12th. That will have given him about 3 weeks of practice time, maybe even a little less. Bulls are going to win the Central if we can hang around near first until Derrick comes back. We have some serious stuff to look forward to this season.

February 21st vs Miami would be awesome if he returned for that one at the UC.

mid-late jan seems about right. all signs points to he will be back this season at least. it is 2012, ACL injury is no more a death sentence to an athletic career like it was during the 80's. medical field much more advanced now-a-days.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. If the decision was up to Fred Tedeschi he'd probably be cleared for tonight's game /green, but I'm sure Bulls management is going to be very cautious.

Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Tuesday that Derrick Rose is not close to being able to practice and wouldn't commit to it happening before the new year.

"Who knows?" Thibodeau said after Tuesday's shootaround. "He's a long ways away from that, but he's doing well. He's doing well."

That seems to be Ducks job anyway.

It's okay to get excited boys. We all know he's coming back very soon. January is only a month away, it'll be here before you know it.

CSN just reported that Rose was shooting jumpers at the UC tonight before the game. While that's nice to hear the story is really that the Bulls did not allow CSN to videotape him shooting. They said the organization doesn't want to get fans hopes up of a return soon.

Typical Bulls organization. We're so tight lipped.

Well, I guess they don't want to indirectly put pressure on Rose's shoulders, either.

Rose will be back no later than February, don't worry boys, it'll be here before you know it.
