Do you disagree with the statement or this specific example?
Both.

1. This is a discussion of the trios.
2. Boozer would add the same amount to either team.

Unless you are trying to use Deng's injury proneness to your advantage in which case I would have to LOL

Seeing as Amar'e, Lin, and others got worse playing with Carmelo, I doubt it.
Hell the Bulls probably would have traded the pick (30th) in the Carmelo trade.
That's the problem with revisionist history.

Asik wouldn't have the same contract as he does now, be it salary or structure.

never mind. I forgot. Scoring is on the defensive side of the ball. Or since he isn't a LeBron-like passer he doesn't fit any offense at all and wouldn't do anything playing with Rose since the Knicks didn't even finish top 3 in offensive efficiency or anyhting. He doesn't have LeBron like passing so he cant fit with Rose or on the Bulls with their bad offense since the Knicks didn't finish 3rd in offensive efficiency

They trusted him enough to finish out games, including in the playoffs. He and Gibson were our two bigmen to finish most games because of the way they clamped the paint.
JamesEarlCash wrote:yes Lin and staudemire got worse with Melo. Guess what, the Knicks were better without them this past season. oops!
Noah and Deng combined would have made up almost all of the demands. Regardless, the exersize is to see how the fanbase overvalues Noah and Deng and undervalues players who are on a team they dislike even though they are a top player. Not even mentioning retaining Asik

More balance, less nonsense and better off financially with more availability to do more with the roster.
Melo and Rose would take up 70-75% of the cap depending on the year.

Spoken like Paxson and JR. Cap be damned.
And more balance? Are you kidding me? Rose can score in that trio and that's it. Deng is declining every year offensively. And for a guy with great defense, he sure as hell gets lit up by LeBron quite often. Maybe I need to balance out my posting by going to the General Board more, because Bulls fans have officially gone crazy when it comes to overvaluing our players. I thought it was bad in the 3 C's days, but my god.

There is more balance offensively and defensively with that trio, as well as more flexibility to fill out a roster with the trio of Deng, Rose & Jo imo.
Look at New York now. They have Amare and Melo making 45 million between them. The cap is 58. What players do you expect to bring in that will make that team a contender?
Omer is a nice player, but he is still inept offensively.
Carmelo doesn't make his team any better, and whilst he has incredible offensive skills, his brain at times stops him from being as good as he can.
You can confuse me as some that has gone crazy or overvalues our players, but you would be wrong.
I will see you on the GB then...

As a ridiculous oversimplification of the players:
Rose/Deng/Noah = All offense/Offense+Defense/Offense+Defense
Rose/Anthony/Asik = All offense/All offense/ All defense
Of all the arguments, team balance is not in favor of the hypothetical trio.
