Don't worry. Bulls will make a big signing this summer....

Wanted someone a bit young, but I guess we have to take what we can if we are going in that direction.

If we can get the Knicks to S&T us Melo, then yeah. Send the Wolves Taj, Butler and picks (16 and Sac pick), plus whatever salary filler is necessary from the non-guaranteeds, send the Knicks Boozer, Dunleavy and picks (19 and a 2016 Bulls pick).

It's not zero, but very close to zero. Love is probably going to be a Laker at this point and there's really not much we can do about that.

Obviously Love wants LA, but that NY business strikes me as pretty foolish. What's the core going to be: Melo, Love, JR Smith, and a bunch of ring-chasers sufficiently stupid as to have missed the memo about title contenders needing to play at least a modicum of defense?

Calling it right here:

Lakers get a top 3 pick in this lottery and trade it to MIN

Lakers get:
K. Love
C. Budinger

T'Wolves get:
P. Gasol (S and T?)
X. Henry
Top 3 Lotto Pick (Probably Embiid)
Kris Bryant will go down as the greatest Chicago athlete after MJ

edit 7/30/21: okay maybe not, but it was a fun ride nonetheless

Love has been a big topic on this board but I've never read a lot of rumors saying he wants to be in Chicago or that even our FO is targeting him.

There's been a few but usually were just another option after LA.

Yeah, I just assumed because we did heard some rumors that Chicago was on his list, and plus he's good friends with Rose so I thought our chances were good.

Gasol would be the obvious trade piece, but, he's a free agent so he's only dealt if it's to a team that either gives him a great deal or is contending. Minnesota wont do the latter so it all depends on how much MN would want to pay Pau

its been mentioned, and Love has had some kind words for Thibs and our team in the past. But lately the talk has all been about LA for him

Honeslty I think Melo is better for us anyway. Melo plays a position of need for us, Love doesn't. Melo is more dynamic with the ball, Love scores efficiently but doesn't really ball handle or iso that well.

I prefer Melo as well. With Melo, we have the ability to play small ball and can match up with Miami better.

-Boozer + Mirotic + SAC Pick + CHI 2016 Pick for Love
-Taj for Afflalo

F Butler
F Love
C Noah
G Afflalo
G Rose

Wouldn't mind Kevin Love, but Carmelo Anthony should still be the first option.

Yeah, I don't get LA for anyone. Kobe is 45, coming off 2 serious injuries and everyone else is 52, yeah, that's a team that's primed and ready to do damage for years to come.

It's simple everybody, NBA players under about 30 years old care more about money, brand building, and having fun in an exciting city than they do about winning for the most part.

He's the Steve Kerr of power forwards. His heart is in the west coast. That's where he'll wind up. Heck, the Warriors should make a move and dangle Thompson and Barnes to get him.

The Knicks fan base are convinced they can also land Rondo when he comes up so he'd be the 3rd piece.

Time to go balls out for Love. Boozer, Mirotic, Butler, and the picks. That'll be as competitive as any offer.

Kevin Love told SI.com that he's discussed playing with Russell Westbrook and Derrick Rose at some point in their careers. Love said, "We all talk about playing together. It's fun to talk about. When the time comes, we'll assess the situation and figure it out."

People think it's so far-fetched that I would stay in Minnesota. And I'm not s------- on the Lakers, but we have the better team, the better foundation. I'm having fun.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are under pressure to begin consider trade scenarios for Kevin Love, according to sources.

Love is anxious to exercise his Early Termination Option in the summer of 2015 to leave as a free agent.

"For the first time, [Flip Saunders] sounds like looking at deals for [Love] is an option," one rival executive told Yahoo Sports.

No team, however, is likely to trade for Love without an assurance that he'll commit to a five-year, $100 million max contract.

There has been a belief that Love would seek a big market such as Los Angeles or New York, but he's open to deals in markets in which he can be part of an immediate contender.

Honestly I'd send everything not named Rose or Noah to get Love. Real talk. Noah=the defensive anchor, Love= the offensive anchor, Rose = the closer/playmaker. They all need each other. Fill out the rest with really good role players and you have a contender for a handful of years.

Get Melo here first, then we'll trade Taj and Mirotic to get Love to complete our superteam. :)
