I couldn't disagree with you more. Getting sued is not a character flaw.

Frivolous suits happen all the time, especially against wealthy people. I'll wait and see how the legal process plays out, but this screams like a woman hoping for a payday.

Well, it says "sue" which necessarily means a lawsuit was filed, unless TMZ simply doesn't know what "sue" means. That said, it is really strange that they aren't quoting the civil complaint. I guess time will tell.

That is true as to physical evidence, but not as to all types of evidence. If she recorded that it happened shortly after the event (texted it to a friend or family member, kept an electronic diary, etc.) then there would be a way to confirm that she expressed in some fashion that it happened close in time to the alleged incident. Or if she just told one or some people back at that time, who will testify that she told them about it back then. That helps get her around the questions about waiting two years.

Maybe "getting sued" actually = "someone desires (is threatening) to sue Rose"

Cause like Duck said, if a suit had already been filed, they'd probably have reported that (where).

It smells a little like maybe a woman who didn't get what she wanted out of rose and maybe now she's out to ruin him. It may just be blackmail (leave your woman and be with ME or I'll tell TMZ I'm suing you for rape. Oh you don't believe me? Read about it on realgm."

That's just what this "smells" like to me. Could be anything true or untrue.

Tell that to the Duke lacrosse team. The mere existence of a civil lawsuit in this context does not, standing alone, say anything negative about either Derrick Rose or the accuser. The truth means that one of them sucks mightily, but there's no way to know right now which one it is. So you defer to the innocence of the accused until more facts come out.

Going straight for a civil suit gives credence to that theory (burden of proof is lower). Perhaps she tried to bring criminal charges and the police wouldn't investigate. I guess we'll find out.

A persons beliefs should be proportional to the evidence that they have before them. Right now there is none that Rose actually did this and he should be presumed innocent.

To me this sounds like a bad breakup with a gold digger who thought he would marry her and who now wants to extort him. I find it hard to believe that Rose would date her for two years and then decide to drug her. There are also several parts of her story that don't make any sense.
