Well, I guess now it's absolutely 100% certain that Wendell Carter is an awful prospect.

Guys I can't go into full detail but I've recently developed an inside source and I can confirm that if the Celtics trade for #4 I will be defecating on Danny Ainge's doorstep. Hopefully I hear more tomorrow.

They actually could really want Bamba. Think about it whatever we are hearing right now we mainly thinking its some smokescreen or something nobody would actually put out. That's why it could be 100% true or not and we wouldn't know the difference until the draft.

Bamba’s navigated the last month WITHOUT AN AGENT?

Don’t just draft him, give him Gar’s job.

So MEM reached out to Bamba directly, and asked him for a visit and his medical info, and he just told them no?

That is an unusually mature young man.

So instead of burning bridges with agencies, he's just directly burning bridges with actual NBA franchises.

Yeah that sounds brilliant.

Tim Duncan didn't have an agent for many years in the NBA possibly his whole career I'm not sure. Just hired an attorney when it came time to sign his contracts, which like with Bamba were not really negotiated but rather a clear-cut set in stone. Frankly I don't know why it any rookie scale player who is the top pick who doesn't need the connections to get exposure would hire an agent until their second contract.

Or that a center like Bamba that has not shown much perimeter or passing game is gonna slide a little. Would Carter Jackson and Ayton go in front of Bamba? If they did, no coincidence they are more perimeter skilled and cut out for today's basketball.

Bamba has an advisor named love, who seems similar to an agent

Carter makes sense for Memphis because that team will be led by two vets and Carter is comfortable not being the man. He did the same at duke. He just wants to help and he’ll do dirty work.

Pretty much every other top 4 prospect wants high volume shots and touches which will be harder in Memphis .

Endorsements. Look at all that Puma money flying around right now, for example.

Agents would actually know what a fair deal is. Some player who has no access to other players' endorsement deals would get fleeced.

Danny boy strikes again! He’s gonna make the best defensive team in the league even better and younger! If bamba turns out to be a Durant stopper, they may be on the road to multiple championships. I friggen hate Boston!

I'm pretty confident that Baba is not signing anything on his own such that he might get fleeced. He will have attorneys and or an agent by the time he signs everything. He is clearly comfortable with the strategy of holding out.

Attorneys are useless for that. Only agencies with experience in actually getting endorsement deals for other athletes will be able to negotiate with confidence.

Mo Bamba could have some 500 IQ it doesn't matter if you don't actually know anything about the industry you are dealing with.

His makeup is an 80. I don’t know how impactful that is in the NBA, but in baseball it’s huge.

It is if you don’t want to be drafted by them.

But the cojones and self confidence, at age 20, to execute the plan on your own is breathtaking.

He has an "agent" but isn't signed with any sports agency, I remember watching a video of his daily routine and he has some old family friend living with him and driving him around to interviews/workouts.

You know, although Mo Bamba was the central figure in KC's article, Bagley was mentioned twice:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/ct-spt-bulls-nba-draft-mo-bamba-20180620-story.html

"Last year’s franchise-changing trade of Jimmy Butler has been followed by the Bulls closely monitoring the draft-day status of big men Marvin Bagley III and Mo Bamba, league sources said."

...

"Though Bagley long has been an organizational favorite for his fit alongside Markkanen, Bamba could be more obtainable. Whether the Bulls will sacrifice a future asset for the potential trade-up needed to land the Texas big man or roll the dice he falls to them is the question."

With rumors that Sacramento still debating whether to take Bagley or Doncic, it's possible that 1-2-3 goes 1) Ayton 2) Doncic 3) Jackson, in which case Bagley and Bamba would be available at #4. Given the choice, who would the Bulls take? It's not clear to me at this point.
"Uh...we've always like ET. ET has big hands. His mother has big hands."
