The only surprise here is that it happened now, I was kind of set to wait longer.

As for the new HC, I find myself without a favorite. K&E probably have an idea of what they want, and look to hire accordingly.

Guess I need to come up with a new sig.
From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

Good news as the team needed a fresh start. Focus needs to be on finding a coach who can develop players, even at the expense of short-term wins

It does make me wonder about the recent press on retaining Boylen for financial reasons. Was it a leak to force Reinsdorf's hand? :-)

No I can bet it wasn’t. As much as we all like to say Reinsdorf is cheap, he at the same time isn’t stupid. Keeping Boylen woukd have cost him more money in lost sales than his paltry salary saved him. This was never in question.

As to why there were so many articles? You are a Bulls beat writer in a pandemic where there is no basketball. You have to write about anything you can... seriously and plus the writers know this will get them clicks. Any good writer or even a bad one knows saying anything negative about Jerry is getting clicks. It’s smart business.

Surprised. Timing is slightly weird as well. It really seemed like he was going to get another year to coach.

KC continues to show he really isn't very good at getting insider information for us fans. He was reporting Boylen was looking like he was staying. He's a solid reporter, but he doesn't break any real news for us diehard fans.

What's with all the misdirection.

I thought it was academic for a minute. Then I began worrying. Now this news?

I wish Boylen well.

Technically it was at the end of the 'regular season'

Can't imagine it's a coincidence it happened the day after the season ended. I wonder if it was money or PR that made them wait - either way it's done.

Yea this is about the 5th time woj or shams has made kc look clueless to bulls affairs and he supposed to be the insider. This not the worst though the worst was when kc reported deng wouldn't be traded and woj bombs a deng trade like a day later lol

Where-ever Lauri is right now i'm sure he's happy of this.
But now Lauri needs to start work because there is not coaching issue of his excuse anymore.

Thank you lord basketball Jesus Shuttlesworth. Thank you thank you THAAAAANK YOU.

I betcha that hapless idiot was given every opportunity and he doubled down on his stupid punch clock and using Lauri as a safety valve spot up shooter. Just the emperor of idiots unable to take advantage of the free Reinsdorf hand outs.

Look I don't care about the man's well being. He will be fine. He has a couple million, he can live out his days in Joliet at the Hollywood Casino and get in fights there all day like Tim Floyd for all I care. As long as his stupid novelty punch clock is gone. We can finally be a normal NBA ball club.

On a certain level, he probably had more emotional investment in the team, but a significantly worse basketball mind than Tim Floyd. Just ferociously unfit to be managing anything on a basketball court. I can finally watch that breakdown video on youtube of how brutally inept his coaching strategies are (https://youtu.be/zvKJ-sLLjuQ). I don't have to get enraged that he's here to stay. He's gone. HE IS GONE AND IT FEELS SO WARM AND WONDERFUL.

REJOICE

REJOICE

I AM SO HAPPY.

He was just like a Chernobyl nuclear leak keeping me away from the team and poisoning everthing; but he's gone...peace and love---he is gone.

I never have to think about Boylens or Boylans for the rest of my happy days.
