Four of our losses could have easily been wins. The team is solid, the way they are playing right now. Just imagine getting Lauri, Sato, Otto and Hutchinson back. I hope starting Tuesday, they can really turn this thing around.

Yes. We are severely under-manned.

The Clippers were 20-38 on 3s, and that wasn't just bad Bulls defense. They were killing it. This is the first Bulls team in years that wouldn't have lost by 20+ under such circumstances, and we're going to talk about Zach's last shot? Come on now.

That’s one way of looking at it, but I look at it as glass half full. The team has made strides. Missing key players and they were still able to compete.

We aren't going to secure a lot of these close games without a PG and a better C. TOs and rebounds are killing us at the minute. I don't see any trades coming our way. We are still in the "figure it out" phase.

At least the Bulls are competing in close games. That’s big improvement from last year.

Even if we continue to lose we still can add another top talented prospects in upcoming draft and trade value of our players can rise.

While I enjoy watching current Bulls I really hope we had legit playmaker on the team. And we need more two-way players.

Two level scoring ability, still can’t get to the rim. And another 36 minutes with 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Great 1-on-1 D, but struggles on the pick and roll (which is totally normal for a 19yo).

In the Giannis, LeBron, Kawhi trio he seemed to get noticeably better each time. Impressive that BD can already trust him on these matchups

Dallas didn't have Doncic, Sacramento didnt have Fox, and the Lakers didn't have Davis.

I'd say we got plenty of help on this road trip. Let's not pretend like Arci, Hutch and Sato would've made enough of a difference for us. Temple shot lights out and even Denzel was able to contribute.

Lauri might have helped, but hey... there's plenty of people here saying this team is actually better without him, so I guess we can't use that excuse either.

you sure there not playing well because of the lack of help. over playing the slow players and giving more minuites to deserving players. if markkanen will be a beast then i will back off on that comment. the way there playing i believe markkanen can help them but i wait until i see it myself

the help has been alot better lately tbh if feels like in 1 game they all clicked or something of the sort but anyways yes theres less help but this teams defense is alot better and lauri isnt as slow i feel like he half asses it on defense but lets hope the coach puts his ass on notice we need him to be all in on both sides

We are absolutely not better without Lauri or Porter. They are 2 of our top 3 players.

I would trade Porter as soon as we can get value though. He is broken.

I disagree, he's flashed plenty of ability to get all the way to the rim. He's just not doing it enough and is limited by his handle. Currently his set three point release is a little slow, which is why he's pump faking his way into mid range jumpers, and he's still losing the ball as he attacks.

The concern over a lack of rebounds and assists aren't matching up to the eye test --> he's not missing obvious rebounding opportunities, and we're not a bad rebounding team.

Obviously there's plenty of room for improvement, but I think it's pretty clear that AKME knew what they were doing with the #4 pick. It's hard not to be excited

i wonder what we could get for wcj and otto .....i feel like if lauri wants to be slow on defense we could put him in at center and use his length

Of course there are moral wins in the NBA. That's what improvement means, going from being out of games by the end of the first quarter, to hanging in for half a game and then losing, to being fully competitive. And when you're fully competitive, they you play many more games that come down to the wire, and you lose about half of them. Those are moral wins. The alternative is what we've had on previous Western road trips, which is blowout after blowout.

https://www.espn.com/nba/team/schedule/_/name/chi/season/2005/seasontype/2
Bulls started 0-9 finish 47-35

Bulls started 3-9 finish 49-33

https://www.espn.com/nba/team/schedule/_/name/chi/season/2011/seasontype/2
Bulls start 2-3 finish 62-20

I can point to some other examples. The Bulls are playing well but they have been screwed by personnel being out (Thad getting that leg infection murdered the team, now its just flat short handed). They also have been the victim of just luck shooting. Similar things happened in the above seasons. You could just tell early on that the losses were flukey or bad circumstances.

There is an old adage that good teams win close games. It really isn't true. Close games are luck.

IMO, if the Bulls can get their roster together and maintain this energy, they are going to go on a big run.

........

Man, the Lauri fans can be tough to stomach. IMO, they bring a lot of the Lauri hate on. I guarantee you that there are a legion of posters waiting to run him into the ground after his first bad game.
