Re: Vuc in Health and Safety Protocol (Shams: Will be out 10 days/6 games)
This is something teams and the league are going to have to deal well into the foreseeable future, so I just hope that no one who gets it ever suffers from anything too serious, or even possibly worse.
I know that now we have had a taste of winning, we want to win them all, but considering it's not time on the side-line due to a serious injury, I find some solace in that. And plus, sometimes injuries provides opportunities for other players down the roster to get minutes, gain confidence which could reap benefits for us down the stretch.

Why so serious?

I suspect—though I could be wrong—that somebody who is vaccinated will recover quicker than somebody who is unvaccinated. If he tests negative before the 10 days, then he should be allowed to play.
Perhaps it's just me, but I prefer to the league to be overly cautious when dealing with this, than being lax about it. This is just basketball games missed, but the players themselves, their families and friends lives, dare I say, is much more important.
Why so serious?

wow, just before the HUGE road trip.
do we get to call someone up form the Windy City squad?
are there any unsigned big men waiting at home for a call?

Aaron Baynes?

I mean, sure, but that doesn’t seem realistic, does it?

If this was a real long-term issue, I'd be okay taking a gamble on Cousins. Not sure if I want him for just a 6 game stretch though.

Depends on what the Rockets want for him...

He tested positive.

Ofcourse Vuc gets covid now with a tough west trip coming up and right when he picked up his game again. Sucks but it’s not the end of the world, it’s 6 games and other players need to step up. Besides now we get to see how they do without him since the roster lacks size.

Yeah but he’s saying what if Vuc tests negative before the 10 days.

All this does is allow the Bulls to find another hidden secret player who's been locked to the bench. Mainly alize or Marko. If it's only 6 games we probably lose a few but we've won with bad vucevic but when he's awful he still does something else. I wouldn't mind cousins. Felicio is smiling somewhere.

I know. I'm asking why the protocol is that you have to wait 10 days after a positive test to come back and not whenever he tests negative again. If tests show he's healthy after 6 days, it seems pretty nonsensical to force him to sit an extra 4, no?

This really has the chance the derail our entire next month. It’s almost a certainty that more of our players will test positive on the back of the 6ers & Vuc.
Every single win we get is crucial because we don’t know what’s around the corner in terms of player unavailabilities.

These days that's what it is for many more folks thanks to vaccinations. Proud of the Bulls for being one of the teams to reach full vaccination status. Hopefully that contributes to Vuc returning soon and, fingers crossed, it not running rampant through the roster.

PistolP wrote:I guess it's time to find out how Bradley and Alize fare in extended minutes. Bradley provides more interior defense and solid rebounding and Alize provides non-stop hustle...but our offense/spacing is going to be much much worse. Hopefully Coby is ready to go soon. I think our rotation will look something like this:
Ball / AC
Lavine / White
DDR / Ayo
Green / DJJ
TBJ / Alize / Marko
We can probably get away with giving DJJ some spot minutes at the 5 against some teams. A lineup of Ball, AC, Zach, DDR, and DJJ would be interesting, with everyone being about the same height and fairly athletic.
Hopefully no one else on the team goes down with a breakthrough case...
Having 2 TBJs on the team is confusing. I thought you were suggesting Troy Brown Jr. start at C, not Tony Bradley Jr.

Its just rolled down from the CDC, which is compiled from analysis on infected people on how long they are infectious for. Of course, no one did this analysis on vaccinated people.
Just in general, why can't we have nice things?
