Ah yes, the oft seen, offseason workout hype video.
Presumably there exist offseason hype videos of players who fulfilled their promise as well. But taking a piss all over everything potentially positive is fun for many.

is doing what is expected (for the length of time it takes to film a video) worth getting excited about in the slightest? all these videos are is self-promotion. at least jimmy waited until he was a star before doing this kind of thing

Grats to Ayo, he put in the work all season. Bulls maybe miss the playoffs if he's not able to step in for our injured backcourt.
I really hope Lonzo is healthy next season, but Ayo should probably just assume he's going to be starting a decent amount of games next season, so I hope he also gets that starter mindset and looks for his own more.

None of those videos excite me, least of all Ayo’s. Which is him taking one shot while using a slow and methodical moves. Nor do I mock professionals for working on their craft or for using social media to show it.
Nor does any of this have anything to do with Butler. Presumably many highly successful NBA players in fact did have videos like this before they made it big. Randomly putting Butler on a pedestal by (probably inaccurately) noting he didn’t is bizarre.
Like I said, some people just like to find a way urinate on everything.

I have nothing against See Red UK, and I don’t feel like poking a little harmless fun at that exited tweet is necessarily urinating. If anyone was offended, I am sorry

Re: Ayo makes All Rookie 2nd team
I'd be more excited by Ayo watching Demar, Caruso or Zach train during the offseason.
A key to a good player development "system" is to have a few guys who train the right way and to get the ambitious young guys to emulate. We had that with Deng, IMO. He instilled that in Butler, Noah and Taj. I think Butler instilled that in Portis.

Deng worked hard in the summers by all accounts but he actually improved very little from when we drafted him. I'd even say it was unusual how little he improved.
At some point, you just need some talent for the game. Still love Lu but he most definitely had a ceiling.

Exactly it’s a big season for Ayo next season. He will play a lot without a doubt but he has to also show improvement. He took the first step, played decent in his rookie year surprising many people but now he needs to take that next step.

True, but Deng had a high bar coming out. He was the #2 player in HS behind LeBron and was highly thought of because he had a smart game his whole career. He was not overly athletic and wasn't going to find that extra gear, he lived up to his hype in the sense he was relevant and actually collected a paycheck until this last season lol. He was always a high floor type player though.

i was merely pointing out that there's nothing to read into with these videos. they're a dime a dozen. nobody's mocking anyone. and certainly not urinating. profoundly weird take. this is worthy of neither praise nor pissing. it's what is to be expected from a professional athlete, and as such a total nothingburger
and there was nothing at all random or bizarre about noting butler either. almost everyone going back to him posted this kind of video after their rookie year. couldn't find one of him until he became a star...as i already noted. pretty straightforward and logical stuff. particularly given that, ya know, he is the one guy who actually did make steady and massive improvement after his rookie year!

Honestly, depending on Lonzo's knee situation I would say just plan on resting him and starting Ayo on back to backs.
