His hands are just so damn bad. Josh put it on a platter for him 2-3 times and he fumbled it or blew a layup.

Throw it at his head. He will catch it.

Cade Cunningham reminds me of Zach Lavine - in many ways.
If he's my best player, you aren't going anywhere...

Jalen Smith was actually terrible, on either end.

Giddey & Tre with 19 assists was nice to watch, it's not easy to generate offense as a bad team with your best scorer out but they kept the offense for 3 quarters. Vuc obviously did most of the damage, but he was set up on every single make.

When did he play good defense?

The game I watched?
Cade Cunningham didn't score for 2 straight quarters and he's one of the best players in the league. He closed the night shooting 33%.

He wasn't on him most of the time.

Like I said in preseason, if Buzelis and Giddey look like this, the Bulls future looks a lot better. Very good games from both and Giddey continues to look like the player he was post all-star. Buzelis has looked and carried himself like an all-star. His confidence is dope to watch.

Have to give props to Vuc after a brutal preseason. He was the best player on the floor tonight. We don't win this without him.

Tre Jones is a steal of a contract and a stabilizing presence for the team.

Okoro stunk on offense, but he had a decent defensive game. For the role he's in, he absolutely can't have 0 three point attempts, let alone 0 points. Donovan at least didn't play him too much.

One of the more entertaining season openers I've seen in a while.

How nice would Ron Holland look next to Matas for the bulls. I was very impressed with his game tonight.

I'm old enough to remember people defending 4-5 offense because the brilliance of Derrick Rose.

Yeah the board really was divisive. Thibs trash offense did not help.

Bogans knew he sucked and understood how to play.

It isn't like Okoro took a bunch of ill-advised shots. He was 0-2 on the night. The issue is that in today's NBA you can't be a zero on offense.

His struggles on that end were bad enough on the Cavs and they had an elite team and spacing. idk how he is going to contribute on that end for this team.

Agreed.
But there is realistic hope that he won't be a 'zero' on offense for long - the ONLY thing he has to do is get a respectable 3 pt shot, something he did at 37% last year, and 39% the year before...

All in all great game. Got to ride all the emotions, confidence, dismay, shock, elation.

Matas, vuc, giddey looked good

Okoro good hustle. Missed Collins out there, we needed him

Vuc had a great game, color me surprised. Still not thrilled about some of his efforts on defense, but everything else was great.

Matas was great, he is a walking highlight reel. Would like to see his involvement increase a bit while Coby's out.

Okoro did his best Pat impression. Not going to worry about one game, we've had 5 years of that level of performance from Pat.

Speaking of Pat, where did that energy come from? He hit the boards hard, had some good defensive plays, hustled, and showed some emotion for the first time ever. Box score doesn't tell the whole story, he was solid.

Collins being out hurts because now Smith is our only backup big and he brings nothing if his 3 isn't falling. I can see why Billy doesn't fully trust him. Collins should take all his minutes when he returns.

Jones was good, too.

There were times where it was glaringly obvious that we don't have a go to scorer without Coby, and we're very lucky an elite shooter like Robinson had such an off game.

Great win to start the season, even though I thought we were gonna pull a classic Bulls chokejob at the end.

Lonzo could actually shoot before his injury. And was All-NBA level defense. This is an insult to him.

He is a train wreck on offense. He struggles to dribble in a straight line.

It's funny how much he and Pat have in common.

Thoughts:

1. We don't win this game without Vuc - it pains me to say that...

2. Okoro really struggles offensively, but his defense is solid

3. Holland almost single handedly beat us. He's a player! Fouls the opposing player on almost every play, but I'd love him on our team any day...

4. Matas was solid on both ends of the floor. I almost like the blocks more than the slams...

5. Jalen Smith was horrible

6. Giddy, Ayo and Kevin were solid.

7. Tre Jones is a keeper. When Giddy went out with foul trouble, I had complete confidence that Tre could lead us.

8. We have a deep bench

AA

Okoro's defense wasn't good either tonight, but again it's 1 game. His defense and effort in the preseason was good.

Okoro sucked tonight no doubt, but it's wild how many people are making sweeping judgements about anyone or anything after a single game.

Pat is far superior to him there. admittedly this is a low bar.

We have something going with Giddey and Matas. Been a long since we’ve had two young players produce like this. They can be cornerstones for the next decade.
