Thankfully SF won yesterday, Arizona is going to roll next week.

If I'm not mistaken, its as simple as:
Bears win and they are in.
Cardinals lose and Bears are in.
Bears lose and Cardinals win, and Cardinals are in.

Green Bay needs to win next week to secure 1st since they won't know the results of the other games (they would lose a 3 way tiebreaker between Seattle, NO, and GB to Seattle and Seattle/NO should both be heavy favorites).

which circles back to what i said last week: with at least 1 arizona loss (already happened), a win against the pack will likely earn the bears another game against the pack the following week...at lambeau

That Rams/Cards game is going to be goofy.

Rooting for the Packers to blow this game and get run all over in the second half. That's how they've gotten beaten against Indy/Minnesota and with Montgomery's emergence, it's a viable path. That Packers game was rough but there was also that terrible fumble in which Mitch got two face mask penalties that went uncalled.

Man, the Packers fall asleep.

This reminds me of those Indy/Minny games. We can beat them this way too.

We are going to have to blitz Rodgers this time around. I hope Pagano knows that. Last game was where we gave him all day to pick us apart was just plain stupid.

Oh wait, they will probably rest the starters....

Well lets blitz anyways.

Goff broke his thumb so Bears can't depend on someone else doing the job for them next week. I've seen this story before. :banghead:

Hopefully GB rests some guys, namely #12.

So Packers will be playing to win next week to secure #1 seed?

We need to blitz the heck out of them. Would be nice to get Johnson back too.

you have to pick your spots. can't readily find a more recent comparison, but over his first 7 years as starter, his QB rating was:

110.5 against the blitz
106.6 overall

can't imagine that he's gotten WORSE in the intervening years against the blitz given more experience

kurt warner has said he loved being blitzed because it meant someone was open

Definitely have to pick our spots. But we cant sit back and rush 3 or 4 and give him a lifetime back there to pick us apart like he did in the first meeting. Need to be more aggressive this time around. Dont give him time to find the open guy. If he has all day everyone eventually gets open.

Nope the Bucs have 10 wins and will get the NFC Least team (the rams maybe have a shot if the bucs lose and they win but idk the tie breaker).

Without Kyler you gotta give the edge to the Rams because of the talent they have on the defensive side of the ball and they've shown to be better at scheming up a strong running game.

if the vaunted bears pass rush can't get to rodgers w/o blitzing, they're in deep trouble

early line is packers 5.5 over bears and rams 4.5 over cards. which gives the bears a 78% chance of making the playoffs

Well they tried getting to him without blitzing in the first game and they were in deep trouble.
