Re: Melo 17: Death or Glory
Didnt the Lakers have a healthy Nash
Bryant
Peace
Gasoline
Howard
Two years ago and barely made the playoffs? I LOVE bryant (top five all time) but he's finished with being even a great player. Way too much mileage combined with two very serious injuries.
Anyway, lala should have no fn impact on anthonys decision. Melos been doing this since he was five years old and should pick whatever his best for him

Melo needs another team for leverage to assure S&T
He not only has to tell NY it's ova, just not into you anymore. He also has to make them believe he prefers multiple locations over them.
Okay now explain it to us if we were 5 years old
If Melo tells the Knicks, I'm leaving, I want to go to "team x", but I need you to facilitate a sign and trade, they're going to try to get as much as possible out of that S&T because they know that's his only option.
If he also has a "team y", and maybe a "team z" where he could go, and they don't require a S&T, then he could leave without NY getting anything in return. So now they might be a bit more accommodating with the S&T terms.

On LaLa:
All I remember was here quote where she said something to the likes of: "If I could live in Denver for 7 1/2 years, then I could live anywhere."
Chicago doesn't exactly strike me as some tortuous place to live. Yeah, it's not New York or LA, but it's still a big city and plenty of stars live there.

Is it July yet?

Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

A few of the senior partners are season ticket holders, and also do a lot of work with InCapital, which is owned by Tom Rickett, the Cubs owner. Anyway, word is, in the office, Melo's attorney's are heading into Chicago tomorrow. That is all I got.

We've done it, we have reached the level of "Lebron filing taxes in IL" level of madness here.

Maybe Phil, Jeanie, Melo and Lala are entertaining a foursome.

Carmelo wants to eat ice cream (go to Chicago) but his favorite flavor (max contract) is Chocolate. His dad (the Knicks) want to give him a lot of chocolate cake instead (a max deal in NY). Carmelo doesn't want cake at all but he also wants a lot of ice cream so he needs a ride to the store instead of walking (S&T over cap space), so he's saying either he'll walk out and go eat brownies (go to the Lakers) OR you can give him a ride to get ice cream and then Dad will get a few Skittles (picks, young players) too.

Re: Melo 17: Death or Glory
A lot of stuff going on here.
What I find most interesting is that this is leaking nearly full two days after his free agent tour capping meeting with the Knicks which Woj himself reported went well and that Melo was comfortable. Isola also reported it went well. That Melo wanted Gasol's number to recruit him to New York.
Now, two days later it's a horse race again? Realistically, especially with a holiday in between, none of the facts/pitches/rosters have really changed or been altered. The only thing that has changed is that Melo has had time to think, so whatever was in his mind on Thursday isn't in his mind any longer.
I would say that's a net positive for the Bulls. I am too much of a pessimist to believe its a leverage play to force a sign and trade to us, but the logic behind the theory is sound.

Lala is a LA, NY type of girl. Not a Chi type. Don't be naive to think she isn't persuading Melo's decision.
