No, I didn't think that had been confirmed. Didn't think the FO would be so short-sighted to do such a thing.

They're not, or they would have put it in the contract.

Wait a minute, there wasn't just multiple reports the other day that the Bulls offered Taj, Mirotic and McDermott for Love. Even backed up by inside rumors?

And even if the Bulls put out pooh poohs on that, that'd just be business as usual for them to not want to leak rumors, true or not. So them saying no really doesn't tell us anything for sure.

This is interesting and shows how Martin is really only a good shooter from one spot on the floor and not nearly the effective floor spacer as many would think.

The shot chart does not bug me, but again....it depends on the role he is in.

Right now, he is the only wing scorer in their starting line up. Neither Rubio nor Brewer can hit the broad side of a barn. So he is a "2nd option" that draws the best perimeter defender by default. He isn't that kind of a player. If we get him with Love...he will be fine.

If we' get him without Love...don't expect nearly as much.

The Bulls really need to land Love. I can't even imagine the offensive numbers on a Rose/Martin/Butler/Love/Gasol line-up. Yeah, Butler is a bit limited (won't be an issue if is corner three is back)...but I could easily see that starting line-up in certain situations where we go with Gasol over Noah.

I'd trade Derrick Rose in right deal! Don't think we have anyone worth untouchable status. :dontknow:

So if Mirotic was not included in our Love offer, I guess it was: Taj, Mc3, Snell and picks, right? I can't believe that we offered Butler too. If we trade away Taj and Butler, who is going to guard LBJ, Melo, etc?

Yeah integrity is so great. Every player out there put so much weight on that. I bet we will be able to attract so many big time players with this integrity.

Let's just face it these people like many don't care so much of integrity of the organization. What they want is money and winning, and if your organization is not totally messed up they wouldn't care much. Maybe loosen a bit on the integrity, everyone out there uses a bit of underhanded tactics it would help us to do more of it.

Agreed. This is basically how the Bulls role. No leaks, constant misinformation put out there.

Given Sheridan was all up in that James to CLE story and Ralph verified his report that we offered that package for Love I will give them benefit of the doubt.

We don't know that 100%. People are just pushing it because they love Niko.

I'm sure some wish we gave Doug a no-trade promise too.

Hell, Hinrich has one! Give it to the whole team! Inmates running the asylum.

Agreed. A team with no second option, and realistically a player who still needs to prove he can carry the 1st option load, can not have untouchables.

Well he is one player that is pretty much untouchable on the bulls and im sure Gar/Pax feel the same

Unless its a mega superstar like durant or lebron but I doubt that would ever happen

They are overly loose with the untouchable status, probably just because they have it. :)

Sheridan reported that Niko was in the offer, but there were others who said Taj, Mc3 and "other assets." Ralph said that the "reported offer" was actually made. But he never said which "reported offer" he was talking about, I don't think.

Here's how Cowley reported it on July 23rd:

According to a Timberwolves source, the Bulls made a “significant offer’’ Wednesday morning for the three-time All-Star, and it was an offer that was considered to be the latest leader in the clubhouse.

The source said that the two headlining names in the package were Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott, “as well as a few other assets.’’

A report from Sheridanhoops.com said that Nikola Mirotic was also involved, but the source could not confirm that.

Like you mentioned, the Sheridan rumor listed Mirotic as being a piece in the trade. Ralph also confirmed the Bulls offered the package that included Mirotic.

Somewhere in this thread the idea got going the Bulls wouldn't trade Mirotic because of how much they like him and promises, though I mean, what are they going to say about a rookie they are excited about?

It sounds like the Bulls really like Mirotic and so do the Wolves

Niko has a trade kicker in his contract. Often times it's included in a contract to disuade from anyone attempting to acquire them in a trade and is seen as a sort of assurance to the player that the front office intends to keep them.

This is ridiculous. I think the Bulls are idiots in a lot of ways, but there's no logical way Jerry would allow a promise to a rookie that we won't ever move him, I mean, come on. The guy is a shrewd, savvy businessman that didn't make it this far in life making ridiculous promises. He probably implied someting like "we'd love to have you here," and, "we don't want to move you." But I highly doubt the Bulls gave an oral no trade clause to Niko. Come on.

Another point, where are all of you integrity loylists when we supposedly told Booz we weren't gonna amnesty him unless we got a superstar. Guess what? The Bulls lied again. Becuase he's gone and we still don't have a superstar.

I want to see Team USA before I answer that question - or would trade him.

Right now.. sight unseen, maybe somewhere around Lillard would be tempting though.
