Re: take on Denver contracts
I raise you one. Become a 3rd team trade partner to supply young talent to Ny and absord talent from Houston. We could unload Niko, Grant, Payne etc. Reason I say that is b/c I'd rather have Ariza and Gordon than Arthur plus we always lose in trades to Denver.

Denver will need to unload salary such as Kenneth Faried and Darrell Arthur now that they've come to an agreement with Paul Millsap.
Would love to take on Faried's contract along with incentives.
I think it makes sense for Denver to go all-in right now, another great suitor to take on salary from.
I think I'd go Houston 1st for talent then Denver.

Looks like Milwaukee looking to make room to sign DRose. Bulls could try to help them and get future #1 in return.

NY is struggling to find a PG. Can we trade them Grant back? I'd take a couple 2nd rounders.

Yet another team trying to unload salary - Bucks, in trying to sign Rose. Henson, Teletovic, Dellevadova the sort of contracts they'd look to move.

Clippers will be heavy at SF with Gallo, Wes, Dekker, and LMAM.
We could potentially trade one of our PGs for Dekker, or Portis if Niko resigns.
I'd take a flyer on Dekker at starting SF. Some potential but not enough to hurt the tank

I've been speculating something like this: Lopez, TPE for Henson, Teletovic, 2018 1st, 2018 DAL 2nd.
It would actually be two deals:
Lopez for Henson, 2018 MIN 1st
and
TPE for Teletovic, DAL 2nd
We could use that TPE to take pick from Nuggets for dumping Faried too.
Too bad we won't see any of this.

Kings just signed Randolph, and there were reports of them being done with Willie Cauley Stein around the draft. They have Koustos, Papagiannis, Randolph, Labassierie, drafted H. Giles...so how about RoLo for Willie Cauley Stein. Bulls take a chance on an active, athletic big man who can switch defenders in the modern NBA...
WCS had a few decent games after Boogie was traded.

I could never figure out why WCS fell out of favor in Sacto. I'm sure Rondo shared his thoughts there last season with the FO. That said, I wonder if Sacto would want Koufos, WCS, Temple for Rolo works?

Boston looking to unload salary to sign G. Hayward. Looks like Smart could be had with the trade exemption .....

Why would the Bulls want Smart?

I agree. Why not go for Bradley or Crowder? But then there goes the tank.

Trade Lopez for Bradley + Filler, then flip Bradley for a draft pick.

Bradley for Lopez doesn't help them sign Hayward. And I'm guessing they'd rather trade Bradley straight for a pick if that's available.
Bulls would need to take on the worst of the available guys and maybe a 2d for the trouble. Then hope to showcase that player for a pick.

I wonder if there is a future 1st deal we could strike with Memphis for Parsons? Wade, S+T Niko for Parsons and 2020 1st?

My dream:
-take Smart off Bostons hands for their own first in 2 years.
-take Parsons off Mem hands for their first in 2 years.
-a month later, flip both smart and Parsons to BKN for a couple 2ds or perhaps a pick swap in 3-5 years. Potentially Smart to LAL and Parsons to BKN.
Tank, have multiple firsts in 2 years plus our own next year. And Improve BKN/LAL just because.

Why wouldn't Brooklyn just absorb those deals and get the firsts? Their FO is smarter than ours anyway.

I'm pretty sure Boston could find a home for smart without giving away a future first.Peelboy wrote:My dream:

Re: Trade Thread: Off-season edition
Three-way with Boston and Portland:
- Portis, 2 Portland future 2nds to Boston
- Crowder, D Jackson to Portland
- Turner, Zach Collins (or Swanigan + 2018 unprotected 1st) to Chicago
We start our rebuild process with LaVine, Dunn, #7, and #10. We can then flip Lopez for another future asset. We still tank for a Top 4 pick next year.
Boston gets enough space for Hayward and a young PF. Portland gets its tax bill down by a lot over the next 2 years and lands a solid starter
