Russia are one heck of a team though.

Looks like you called that prematurely. :D

What a second half for Spain!

Spain won the second half 47 - 28. Not bad after a disastrous first half.

Toast as in no chance at a gold medal. Not that there chances were great in the first place, but the usual Spain had a shot. The way this Spain team is playing is awful.

I bet Noc and Scola have more confidence.

Ginobili Puts Chance Of Beating Team USA At 5-10 Percent
Aug 10, 2012 12:16 AM EDT

Manu Ginobili knows the odds of beating Team USA are slim.

"The odds are against us. We have a 10 percent or even a five percent chance of winning but we are going to fight for this," Ginobili said after leading his team past Brazil and into the semifinals.

Argentina played Team USA evenly through three-and-a-half quarters on Monday.

"We'll take the same approach," Ginobili said.

"We are going to try and turn the ball over less. Make a few shots in the second half and don't let them run. Then if they get inspired and LeBron (James) or Kobe Bryant or someone get hot and hit 20 threes like they did in the last game, then there's nothing you can do."

LeBron basically told the rest of the team to stop it with the 3's. US getting layup after layup now.

This has been a complete half court game. No fast breaking, no up tempo, few turnovers. US should feel good to be up 7 at half.

A slow half court game suits Argentina. They can't live off the three ball like they have though. And they need to shut off the paint.

Which is why I was impressed by US in the first half. They're ready to grind this one out. Americans teams now realize this is what it will take to win International competitions after learning the hard way in 2002, 2004, 2006.

Kobe with 13pts / 1ast / 3pts / 2stl

Lebron with 11pts / 4ast / 3reb

Lebron's penetration is killing ARG. I give him credit for doing that. He has learned a lot during the last season.
