Wing players huh, who needs em?

Glad they can speak but they can't play.

Drellberg wrote:I gotta write again what I keep thinking ... Melo is not what Phil Jackson and the Knicks really need or want ... AT THAT PRICE.

George Karl was just on ESPN talking about why Melo should not pick the Knicks. Was saying that Melo's game and PJ's game do not mesh at all. The Knicks are at least two seasons away from having ANY juice. Etc.

All of the reasons why Melo should not pick the Knicks are also reasons why PJ should not be enthusiastic about paying Melo nearly $30M/year when Melo is 35 years old. The Knicks' offer just does NOT make sense to me. I believe that PJ can't be especially enthusiastic about this contract happening. I'm just saying ...

I understand Melo going to Chicago or Houston or even Dallas. Staying in NY or going to Lakers doesn't make sense for both him and those franchises. It just doesn't make sense for him to stay back in NY. That's why it is either a S &T negotiations or Dolan just forcing Phil to pay max money is what is probably going on.

The only way I could see Anthony going to LA is if Kobe has respectfully agreed to pass the torch to Melo as the #1 Laker guy of the generation.

Kobe doesn't pass. So that's out of the question.

Just because Kobe likes him doesn't mean he will cede the throne.
Hell, Kobe just last year finally fully understood what Shaq was doing to him all those years ago when he had to deal with Howard.

Maybe Kobe has enlightened himself over these injuries.

If you're Carmelo, I don't know how you aren't salivating at the chance to put on a Bulls uniform and whoop this team in the playoffs:

Cole/Napier
Wade/ring chaser
James/Granger
McRoberts/Haslem
Bosh/ring chaser

MIami blew it if McRoberts and Granger are the "upgrades" they imagined .McRoberts isn't bad though and he can give them a sort-of Boris Diaw effect, but I just don't see it impacting them huge.

Kobe has one mindset. He is the man and everyone else gets in line while they try to win another championship.
And there is nothing wrong with that, he is a great player and a all time legend. Those guys are always like that. From MJ to Magic to Kobe and all of the old school mind set NBA guys.

It was in the last thread when it looked like they (her & Melo) were going Hollywood.
