After examining Jalen Duren, EJ Liddell, and Leonard Miller positives and negatives, Tari Eason remains number one prospect, in my mind, in regards to our 18th pick.

Jalen Duren:
On offense
- Doesn't have a jump shot
- Can't hit threes at all
- Poor free throw shooter
- No handles
- Dishes out hockey assists
- No go to moves in the post
- No post up game
- Good on the fast break

Defense
- Great rebounder
- Good shot blocker/shot challenger
- Fast recovery time if he gets beaten
- Covers a lot of ground
- Can defend players who favor the "step back" jump shot
- Gets quick fouls

Jalen Duren's game revolves around athleticism and lobs, dunks, put backs; too raw for me.
This kid is a big man defensive specialist. That's great. Franchise player? Not really since his skills on offense are light years behind.

Leonard Miller is an interesting project.
He has skills to be a point forward. He has handles and court vision; 6-10 kid with guard skills. Unfortunately, he lacks the IQ and defensive effort so I avoid the "Canada is hiding NBA Superstar" talk. His defense sucks. Seriously.
His handles are too wild and loose. He needs more development time. If I were to draft him, it's for "draft and stash" purposes.

EJ Liddell lacks tons of offensive skills.
He's slow and has terrible handles, which means, as of right now, he's a terrible one on one player. He'll always be a terrible iso player. Liddell is mainly an off ball, pick and pop, catch and shoot guy. Defensively? He's ok. Liddell's help defense is great. Serviceable starter? Yes. Game changing player? Not really.

Tari Eason's weakness is using his left hand and driving to the left. That's his immediate weakness. He has to strengthen that and that's going to take years. His 2nd weakness is pull up mid range from the dribble. He can do it. It's just he's weak at it.

So after that (for our 18th pick):
1. Tari Eason

2. EJ Liddell
3. Jalen Duren

I'm late to the Tari Eason party, but yeah... You guys nailed it.

He would be such a grand-slam if he slides to the 18th pick!

Eason or Miller is my stance at the moment.

Could talk myself into Duren given his youth. Not interested in the other center in our range really.

Of course, if he was thought of as having franchise player level potential, we wouldn't be talking about the possibility of picking him up with the 18th pick.

Eason will go top ten after workouts unless he has some major red flags with attitude etc.

Miller feels like a trade back flier type.

Wendell Moore is going to be GTJ 2.0

Kendall Brown would be a great fit. Lonzoish.

Will be interesting to see if AK trades Coby to move up or if he trades the pick for a vet.

Wendell Moore is a Junior who was real bad as a freshman/soph and still was worse than GTJ offensively when he was a freshman. Don't see that comparison at all.

Kendall Brown seems like Brandon Clarke without the motor/instincts.

Moore will be a high volume 3pt shooter like GTJ. I don’t care what they did as freshman. The NBA was quite a bit different just 3 yrs ago. Moore fits where it is and is going.

Kendall Brown couldn’t be more different than Brandon Clarke. Clarke is an athletic big 4/5. Brown is the switchy wing and can really pass and is a high IQ player.

Kendall Brown is athletic too and has the size and speed to play the 2-4. I also like that he knows how to change direction on drives or in transition to avoid charges or to separate from the defender more. But what I like the most is his off ball skills, which the Bulls are weak in when playing top teams that will double or clog the lanes for Zach and Demar.

Yea, I personally mentioned him as one of the guys I would pick over Liddell since he's faster and is a more proven 3 pt shooter. The knock on him is his age and he isn't good scoring off the dribble.

He was projected to be there at one point. But his stock has jumped sky high and now he figures to be gone way before our pick.

True, some mocks got him around the late lottery now but I think his age may still play a factor in him being drafted lower.

I like this kid. Tyler Herro vibes. Shades of Peja. Has some swag. Plays with an edge and motor. We need another shooter that can shoot of screens and step backs and not just a set shot.

Yep! He's an international guy I mentioned in this thread I feel AK may be keeping tabs on. You won't find most big name NBA draft guys talking about him but the very few that does knows what's up.

My Top 10:
1- Chet Holmgren
2 - Tari Eason (Catapulted to my number 2)
3 - Jabari Smith Jr.
4 - Jeremy Sochan
5 - Johnny Davis

6 - Dyson Daniels
7 - Keegan Murray
8 - Jaden Ivey
9 - Kennedy Chandler
10 - Kessler Walker

Notables missing: Paolo Banchero (too much offense, crap on defense, over thinker/ball stopper on offense)
Shaedon Sharpe (Too much of a mystery. He CHOSE NOT to play for Kentucky. He wasn't injured at all. I don't like mystery surprises)

I'm assuming Duren wouldn't be on the board, but based on the above conversation, if he's on the board I think I'm taking him over Eason even.

Duren is very, very good.

He would cure so many of our ill's at the C position (or at least contrast the limitations Vucevic has on the floor).

Also gives you a potential starting 5 going forward if you are entertaining a Vuc trade.
