They’re only 2 games away from the play in with 23 games left. How is keeping the pick better odds? Lol. If you prefer the pick that’s one thing but don’t tell me it’s greater odds.

No matter what you and I say the bulls will determine whether they make the playoffs or not. As of now I doubt they will tank on purpose, there’s too much talent and too many veterans here to do that. They are going to fight to get in.

Ofcourse if they continue to suck they can miss the playoffs even by trying but I think they are too good to miss out. If DeRozan especially gets back to normal he by himself could carry them to wins. Depends on how bad the injury is and if he’s pain free.

Really?

I’ll just +1 you for the time to find these odds even though I don’t think they’re accurate. Again it all comes down to the Bulls and how they perform to finish the season no matter what we say.

Ayo’s been the better defender, but Coby’s been closing that gap all-season long. Ayo’s definitely a higher-percentage shooter overall, but that’s mostly because he’s conservative with his shot attempts. Don’t get me wrong, that’s not a bad thing. You want guys that know their limitations and take smart shots, but the fact is this lineup isn’t working.

As we get to the “who cares” portion of the season, why not do some experimenting?

Kinda looking forward to seeing Coby Carter Jr. play well for another team. Man this franchise knows how to mismanage young players.

If we're trying to compete for a playoff spot then Melo would actually be ideal. Having a power forward who can reliably hit 3's could help space the floor.

Ideally, Bradley would've been dumped for Melo six games into the season. AKME got head in buttocks disease.

Waived players tracking thread

I think Melo hold up from any team is that he wanted to stay close by his son whose started high school I believe . I think he was suppose to be a knick but when they didn’t trade for Mitchell it wasn’t possible anymore cuz role at the forward spot didn’t open up . Maybe with school ending soon he’ll be more open to move further away.

Who are the shooters who would actually get on the floor?

Yes Melo can still shoot but but I take the step back and see the team that sat out the trade deadline adding one guy who has been out the entire season and the other being a PG who got moved from the Lebron/AD team who got a new PG after they made big trades and was just salary on the move because he got bought out by his new team. So it looks like the Bulls just made some last minute PR moves which look like gambles on the coach losing control of the outsized personalities they brought in for 23 games.

It could be a way to make things look really bad because they know that they are going to spend the summer shipping all but 3-4 players from this roster out the door.

Have you noticed who we’ve been starting at PF over the last three years?

Yeah, he's probably a better player than Ayo, but he has much less quality competition at his position, and more athletic potential. I think you can make a strong argument that Dragic, Caruso, Zach and Coby would all play the 1 spot better than DJJ plays the 4 spot.

I'm not saying Ayo didn't deserve his opportunity. He did, and he kinda failed pretty badly at it, which should be expected, because he was not a high valued prospect. He's a smart, NBA ready older player who can do everything well enough to not hurt you. I'd like him on our team for many years, but not relied on to start or ideally even be a primary backup.

Yup Ayo didn’t take advantage of his opportunity with Lonzo out to play well as a starter..He got plenty of chances and could have gotten paid the big money but failed. As you said though he’s still an ok player to have on the roster and should be cheap to keep.

I guess the glass half full point is that at least we have a pretty clear picture that neither Ayo nor Coby can be counted on as core future starters before the FO cut their next deals. I would be pissed if we Felicio'd either of them (although Felicio's $ aren't bad today).

Was just about to post this. Wouldn’t mind adding him as well since we’re making a “playoff push”. Would waive Marko or Dragic for a spot for him

I would waive Marko and try to go after Will Barton. If not then Melo would be my next target.

If my math is right, the Bulls could theoretically waive and sign two other players (Marko and Green if he's just not going to be able to play for the rest of the year?) and still be under the luxury tax line.

OK. That's something. Keeping Hill this season seemed like a questionable move. Good to cycle guys through to see if any are NBA caliber guys.

Finally some action lol. Hill was a waste of a spot not sure why it took so long to waive him. Then is it possible for the bulls to sign anyone else like Barton? That guy can actually shoot the basketball. If there’s a way they should definitely go for him. AK had him in Denver so he should have connections.

Knew nothing about him, so I looked him up.

Was excited that we actually got a PF! Then saw his height being listed at 6'5 and I was like, well OK, Bulls gonna Bulls.

Oh and this lmao

Since they're in the mood to make moves, I'd let Dragic go to catch on with a playoff team if possible and get Marko a limo ride to the international terminal at O'Hare then give both RJ Hampton and Will Barton a call. At this point there's no downside to changing the last 5-6 guys on the bench since they've only been playing 8-9 in the rotation anyway.

This. Having one of those guys backup DeRozan or Williams would be huge. Marko isn't playing and likely isn't in our future plans. Makes more sense if we're trying to make a playoff run to get 3-point shooting which we desperately need.

Return to Chicago Bulls
