Yea 200% disagree with that tweet, if anything that seems like exactly the move Giannis would want, a rim protector, solid C, got rid of an albatross contract that was going to sit for a year and gave Bucks "some" flexability to improve for this coming season and the future.

IMO, a lot of NBA players are bad GMs. I think Giannis should like this, but who knows whether he does. Though you'd think the team would have run it by him if they don't intend to trade him.

I'm having a hard time envisioning Coby getting his big pay day, or Pat's deal getting easier to swallow.

Sexton and Simons were just salary dumped, and FVV took a 45% pay cut. It seems like 25 million is the new cap on productive, non-star starters.

If he doesn't reach a new level I think he's getting 20-25 million / year, and even that might be hard to move under certain circumstances.

And if Pat were to re-enter FA agency after his rookie contract this offseason ..... I don't see him topping 13 million AAV. It's of course worse now with the season he just had.

Yeah, Makes ZERO sense for MIL to make a major move without running past Giannis first. Also makes no sense for him to want to sit on Dame for a year and hope he gets back to what he used to be after that year. Makes so much more sense for him to be in with MIL demonstrating they'll invest by the Waive/stretch and then signing Turner. But sets up other necessary moves. Can't be the case that they can now drop a significant offer on Giddey, but he might be a fit there with some shooters and Giannis/Turner. Or Coby.

Yeah, Giannis was friends with Dame so it’s logical for him to act sad but at the same time he definitely knows this was the only way the Bucks would make some kind of move to improve.

No. Still close enough to or even over the cap, with the other announced signings plus the part of Dame’s salary that stays plus Kuzma, etc.
