3. It's Broussard

This should go without saying. There is nothing to like about Chris Broussard. He will be late on every report, and frame it with SOURCES: even after the direct source has announced it. He once went on ESPN and said LeBron signing with the Bulls was a done deal. He called being gay "an open rebellion to god". He's a complete idiot, and I don't feel bad saying it.

Wait - what? Somehow I missed this gay comment. This happened and he still has a job? :o

Yes, he even has an orginazation against gays.

It's one thing if it had to do with LaLa's career, but for a child who is not yet in high-school or at an age where he may have longer relationships/friendships and setting himself up for college? I'm sure if Melo moved to Chicago, he won't live here beyond this contract. And I doubt the guy is living in NYC the rest of his life after he retires.

Bulls should have had Obama and Oprah available for recruitment, lol.

Melo has personal experience, he was uprooted to Baltimore at age 8. The family aspect is probably bigger than anyone realizes and yet he will get hammered for taking the money.

Simple solution to this would be Melo going to New York at the money he was offered by Chicago. Add a little more to cover the taxes. If he does this I'll buy the family angle, if he takes a penny more he is about the money, period.

THIS. How hard is to uproot a 7 year old? Sure he has friends and stuff but he'll cry it out for a week and get over it. He'll see a big shiny new crib, his peers will be jealous and he'll make new friends and be fine within a month or two. My cousin who was 16 was moving to Chicago from the Northwest. He was totally against it and was "depressed" and cried for a week. He got over it and it's been 5 years already. He absolutely loves Chicago and won't admit that he loves it. Change is hard at any age but you get over it. Time heals all wounds.

I personally think this family angle is an excuse for Melo to go back to NY. He left the door open on returning.

By the time the Knicks have their roster turned around he'll be 32+.

Yes--no denying you all have the better current roster--but perhaps he wants to invest in that future and try to get a ring in his hometown and Phil has convinced him that future exists and that's all he needed to see before resigning. I seriously don't understand the vitriol from other team's fans on this issue.

So if he took a dollar more, and left the millions in raises on the table, he would be all about the money completely. ok.

What's a total crock of **** to me is people who defend Melo act like star players can't get whatever they want when they want it.

Meaning, if Melo really wanted to play in Chi, he could eventually force a scenario to get 4/96 in a s&t.

Stars of his caliber run the league and we know it. He just doesn't want Chicago enough.

I can't wait to see the Bulls **** on NYK next season. When he comes to the UC he's gonna hear it and our boys will play to prove what could have been.

Well thanks for the education on Broussard and his hatred agenda to all who replied. My lack of respect for him has grown. Not sure how that got past me. You would think ESPN would want to distance themselves from him. Surprised they haven't been given pressure to give him the heave-ho already.

Oh yes they can. And they should. Their parent company (Disney) has a decorated history of gay rights and open policies.

Wow, that is some serious spin... the part of him "investing his $$ in Phil Jackson". "Investing" makes it sound like he's making a financial sacrifice or taking some sort of risk with the hopes that there will be a future payoff. That is the complete opposite of what it would be which is PHIL JACKSON investing his $$ in CARMELO for the long term. For Carmelo, it is riches upfront with uncertain outcomes on the court.
