Really? Portis & Grant have zero value. Why would they give up Drummond an a pick for that garbage?

Given that OKC lost Taj, I wonder if we could do a S&T Niko plus Valentine for their 2019 1st?

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Henson on block for Bucks to shed salary going after Rose.

But why would we need extra picks going into rebuild?

Henson is on a pretty team friendly deal. I think Milwaukee will be able to move his salary without attaching any first round picks.

I wouldn't mind Henson - IF:

1) We have a trade lined-up for RoLo
2) We get a future 1st to take him
3) They take Payne in trade

Henson is on front loaded deal, but he still is ultimately a backup, therefore not that friendly imo.
I think nobody takes him for free. If Anderson's and Turner's price is two picks, Henson should return one. He's got 3yrs/30 mil remaining.

As for Lopez, move him if we can, but I doubt there is a deal at the moment that nets us much value.
But just don't bring Niko back and we are fine.

We should strike up some talks with PHI.

Either:

Payne for Okafor

or

Lopez and Payne for Okafor and a pick

So explain to me why we're not at least looking at taking Ryan Anderson in a 3 way trade and letting Niko walk? Grab a few picks between the NYK and Houston. Who cares about the 3 year deal Anderson has, we will be awful for that time period.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

Pretty sure NY doesn't want to give-up a pick. Taking Anderson to get a late 1st from Houston is sorta meh.

I agree I'd rather have Anderson and a pick than Niko though.

We should sign Mitch McGary to a 4 year, minimum deal.

He's a worthwhile gamble imo.

Worst case scenario, you cut him.

Best case scenario, you have a playoff caliber rotation big signed up for nothing when we will ideally be building the team back up in 3 or 4 years.

NY will float a pick if they get cap relief, pretty sure a 2nd rounder. Houston will give us a 1st rounder. That and Anderson like you said is better than signing Niko to the 17 mil a year he wants. Anderson is a solid vet to have around the young guys, good character dude.

Toronto just gave up 3 picks to get out of a slightly better contract then Melo and they didn't have a Houston really wanting that albatross of a contract. Im just at a loss at these multiple opportunities we have not jumped on.

I liked McGary coming out, got a nice skill-set for a big. He hasn't ever seen mentally committed to the NBA though, I think he's done in the league. Definitely has the talent to be a difference maker in the league though. Pity.

I don't see the Bulls doing anything like that. We would want to be receiving back picks. If we were taking on contracts. With Wade being an expiring contract, he is actually a fair bit valuable.

And Wade might just be bought out.

Exactly

Im all for picking up guys like that. Its rebuilding season, Bulls should focus on player development an finding sleepers.

Another player like McGary that I like is Cliff Alexander. Chicago kid, with great wingspan, athleticism an hands.
