I think he can provide serviceable minutes as a big. He was good in Phoenix. We don't need bigs right now but if RoLo or Portis get moved before the deadline, I could see us picking him up.

1. Wendell or Lauri (hopefully Wendell).
2. Our 1st Round Pick
3. Zach LaVine if they want established talent coming back.
4. Parker, Lopez, and Holiday as expiring contracts.
5. Portis and Dunn as potential sweeteners.

We can build a package that few other teams can.

I'm not giving up Wendell, a first, and Zach for AD. Maybe not if I knew he'd re-sign, and definitely not with no guarantee he will. Lauri, Zach, and a first is bad enough I'd have a hard time even watching. That makes us worse than the Pelicans. Healthy Cousins was a similar caliber player, just swap character concerns for health concerns, and the return for him was nowhere near that. I guess I'd trade Wendell/1st/filler for him, on paper that's a no brainer. But I don't see how you get from there to a championship team, you're great at the 4 and 5 but have the same problems we have now, terrible on the wing after Zach and nobody on the roster whose a primary ballhandler on a championship team.

Maybe he has an NBA out in his contract?

I know he's not the typical big man in the NBA today (he doesn't really shoot threes), but I think he'd bring toughness and rebounding to a team (and not just the Bulls).

But he's probably not on GarPax radar.

I think Bulls need to figure out which players that are considered bums are not that bad (or at least better than what we have) and make a trade for our bums.

Also pay attention to fights between teammates like that of Temple vs Casspi.

**** FO do something right once at least.

Any internal talks of putting Zach LaVine on the trade market?

There's been no suggestions he's been considered on the table. I wouldn't move him. I know some people on this board would though.

Nah. Miami would be a good place for him but he's probably in Chicago for the long haul.

Bills Simmons brought up an interesting trade proposal for the sixers and pels; AD for Simmons, a pick and whatever trade filler you need. Gives the Pels a future star to try over with and the sixers now get the most dominant and versatile front court the league has seen in a long while.

Pros and cons for both teams but it would be exciting if it happened, we all know the Lakers and Boston will put everything in the middle of the pot when the time comes to get AD. This would throw a monkey wrench into their plans.

Wiretap says Cha wants to dump Batum. Adding Kaminsky isn't gonna get that bad contract off the books. I wonder if we could use Jabari to offload Shrek's deal to offset some of that Batum contract ($27M for next 2 seasons). Obviously not enough, but add in their 1st this season and Bridges and I'd be happy.

Bridges would be my goal.

Parker + Portis + brooks + 2 seconds for batum and bridges I’ll be down for.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

What about this, in order to get a better bench:

.Jabari to Jazz for Favors (C) and G.Niang (SF) (they free up space and one SF. They got like 3 more)

.Blakeney to OKC for N.Noel (PF) (OKC needs shooters)

.RoLo and 2nd round pick to MAVS for D.Powell (PF) and DSJ. (They free up space for next year)

WCJ/Favors/Shrek
Lauri/Portis/D.Powell/N.Noel
Hutch/Niang/Selden jr
Zach/Harrison/Alkins
Dunn/DSJ/Arci

We may even send Portis to a contender for a SF and pick.

Heard this deal proposed on "Game Theory" podcast with Sam Vecenie:

DSJ and 2021 Mavs 1st for Wendell.

I don't think I would do that but I would listen to deals for a young wing for Carter.

you really think that dallas would trade dsj and powell for cap space? i think that's a pipe dream, especially smith he's a good player that still has time on a rookie deal and powell isn't terrible, IMO they could do much much better than a bag of chips.

That's a sell low move.

I think Dallas missed their sell-high window on DSJ. I'd do RoLo, Blakeney and our new 2nd rounders for DSJ though.

Well it's quite a lot of money and they don't have a back up C right now. They can use RoLo now. Maybe we could include another player.

Starting to see more chatter on what the Wizards might want for Beal. They seem to want 2 1sts, a player+. Would anyone from their armchair POV offer Zach as the centerpiece plus one 1st and other pieces?

LaVine has very similar offensive stats and advanced stats to Beal this year and also last year (when Beal was an All Star). TS%, TRB%, AST%, USG% are very close. LaVine is more turnover prone and his contribution to winning is inferior (OffRtg of 102 vs. 110). While intuitively you would think that Beal is a better defender, numbers suggests that Beal's defensive efficiency is overrated and similar to worse than Zach's, + block/steals numbers are similar. Obviously both offensive and defensive efficiency numbers depend on the people around you, and it's hard to contest that Beal has had a better "supporting cast" than Zach (or at least with more NBA experience).
Bottom line, I don't think I'd trade Zach for Beal as Zach is younger and has shown signs of improving efficiency this season, while Beal is pretty much stagnating.
