Bulls Trade: 2020 Unprotected 1st Round Pick

Knicks Trade: RJ Barrett

It would have to be after the lottery before the Knicks even consider it but if there's one franchise that's going to trade a number 3 pick after his rookie season it's the Knicks.

Its a fair proposal considering you just have to be in top 5 for a chance at number1 and Bulls are awfully close.
Considering Knicks prospects usually have terrible seasons, I wouldnt be shocked if they took this deal.
RJ is the exact type this franchise needs more than Lavine (point forward). Hes a jumpshot away so hire someone like Hoiberg.

I would do that deal, but maybe a different deal with Knicks Randle/Barrett/Ellington for Porter/Markkenan/Dunn.

I wonder if Bulls have Valentine on ice because they have a deadline deal set and don't want to risk him getting injured?

I never understood what Boylen has against him. Valentine isn't great, but I think he's done enough this year to be a rotation player.

RJ Barnett is Kris Dunn at the sg position.

I don’t want him.

CJ Miles is/going to get waived. Do we pick him up to fill the gap for the year?

CJ is out for the year after having wrist surgery, while this seems like a very Bulls like move, probably not.

Hey bulls fans, curious what you all would think of this deal, its an expanded version of a trade that's well received in trades forum:

Philly out: Zhaire, Scott, NYK 2020 2nd and NYK 2021 2nd
Philly in: Satoransky

Chicago out: Satoransky, Otto Porter Jr
Chicago in: Zhaire, Aaron Gordon, Aminu, NYK 2020 2nd and NYK 2021 2nd

Orlando out: Aaron Gordon, Aminu
Orlando in: OPJ, Mike Scott

Bulls Recieve: Ben Simmons
Sixers Recieve: Lavine and Thaddeus Young

Worked in trade checker...not sure it really works though.

IMO in comes down to Zhaire.
Sato and Otto are not, IMO, core pieces of a contender. Gordon isn't either and is a flawed player. If folks believe Zhaire can be that piece, I could be convinced. The picks are of marginal interest, but have some value.

I still think if Philly values Embid over Simmons that Zach pairs better with Embid so I like this idea.

A. Gordon and Lavine might be too little BB IQ for 1 fanbase to handle.

Valentine needs a specific role for him to succeed. Probably almost a point forward role and he's not going to have that on this team.
He needs a change of scenery.

The BoyPax jokes are fun and all, but it's time for them to stop kidding themselves. This team is trash, most these guys are, at best, looking at Bogans type $1-2m roles in 3 years. These guys should all be shuffled out for late 1sts or best-available 2nds. You just need to think of playoff teams that might benefit from them.

Meanwhile, it's very important they actually position themselves for bottom-3 record so that we can draft better than #7 again.

Valentine - The guy is a 15mpg slayer. Send him somewhere where that low-minute burst makes sense (10th man on a contender). We'll take a late 1st (25-protected) or two 2nds ; pretty much that's the theme of all these players, maybe top-20 protection if possible. LAL, LAC, HOU, PHI

Hutchinson - No thanks to praying for him to learn how to shoot. Might have to use him as filler with one of the other trades, cause on his own, I can't think of any trade scenario where you get anybody remotely interesting. A defensive specialist wing who can't shoot nor stay healthy? I actually think Kornet might have a little more value. I know you can always trade him for a player who doesn't really play anymore (Sefolosha), but question is if Morey has any picks left after that Westbrook trade. HOU, DAL, LAL

Kornet - Terrible defender, but he can shoot. PHI, HOU

Dunn - OK, the kid can defend and hustle. Nevertheless, he can't score, and we drafted Coby. Any contender likes him off the bench, though. LAL, LAC, MIA, MIL, DAL, HOU

Sato/Thad - Dragic is better, but maybe MIA bolsters its depth and adds some salary instead of expiring over the cap. You need to get a little creative here, as their salaries are too rich for most contender's liking. With how mediocre these two vets really are, I just don't know. I think you hope for an expiring and late 1st. HOU, PHI, LAL, LAC, MIL, MIA

Otto - Hm.

I don't see why Valentine can't be someone off the bench who scores a bit in limited minutes. His three point shot would help open up the offense a bit (especially during moments when the office has stalled...that happened a lot this year).

But again I'm not saying he's great. One thing I do wonder is: What does Hutchison do so much better than Valentine that makes him get the minutes he does?

Bored enough to reply: Not yet.
Simmons is in the last year of his rookie deal, making $ 8.1 million, and that is his cap figure for trades this season.
He has signed the 5-year extension starting at $29M, but that only applies after June 30th in the offseason.
The player values for that trade will never match, even if Simmons never hits another 3, but that's not the point here.

I think I would do this trade, not sure Orlando would though.
I'll take the chance on Zhaire and Gordon, but especially those 2 second round picks.

Ready to blow it up if needed.

Valentine, Porter jr., Hutchison and Thad can go for sure. All that Needs to come back is a SF and PF. Maybe a Center if we can ship out Felicio somehow.
I'd listen to offers on Lauri before having to pay him big Money.

Sato, Dunn
Lavine, White
new guys
Lauri, trade or Thad
Carter, Gafford

at least it would be fun.
