Of course we would move up in draft in year where there are zero top-tier prospects, Bulls gonna Bull.
I'm not high on any of our young guys, but big hell no to trading any of them to move up. Don't be enticed by these slim pickens players who wouldn't crack the top 15 in a good draft.
If anything we should trade back a few spots and pick up a future 1st.

Plz dont pick Ball. I would prefer not for AK to take a bust with his first pick.
There's no way LeMelo Ball is going to be a bust. He just won rookie of the year in a pro league. He might not be an all-star, but he'll be a safer pick than most.
How is he a safe pick? He cant play defense or shoot. So are you okay with a 10-11 point, 5-6 rebound, 7-8 assist PG like his brother? How many of those kind of PG are on playoff teams. How has Kris Dunn worked out putt up similar numbers?
LeMelo Ball is a 6'8" point guard with a 6'10" wingspan! Kris Dunn is a midget compared to him, so you can't compare the two.
If you're worried about LeMelo Ball on defense, you're worried about the wrong thing. His brother is a damn good defender because of his size and athleticism. LeMelo has those same traits. After some time in the weight room, LeMelo will be a good defender at the very least. With his size, most point guards aren't going to easily score over him anyway.
If the Bulls draft LeMelo, it will probably mean they're going to play at a faster pace. LeMelo would help the Bulls push the pace and get easy baskets in transition, which is something the Bulls haven't done since Derrick Rose was traded.
If LeMelo was the Bulls starting point guard, Coby White and Zach LaVine could focus on scoring. Tomas Satoransky could play backup point guard, which he is better suited to do. With these changes, the Bulls could score more points and play a more entertaining style of basketball.
Overall, I think drafting LeMelo Ball is far from the worst thing that could happen to the Bulls.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Thread: Bulls pick 4th!
Kemba was hovering around 6 but Denver can get away with Murray at point because of Jokic. I certainly would not be confident in Murray being the primary playmaker on a winning team. He has certainly improved but his reads aren't on the level of an elite playmaking pg. Either way..based on what I know about AK. I think there's a very good chance you end up with Deni Avdija.kodo wrote:youngthegiant wrote:What do you guys view Coby White as? PG or SG?
He's more of a SG. He's not great running the P&R. He is best hunting for his own shot.
But a primarily scoring guard like him plays the PG position often enough these days, Kemba Walker only averages 4 apg. Jamal Murray also 4 apg.

It's going to be funny to see people change their tune on him.
I read words like that about Lonzo.

No. Just draft and develop.
That’s such an odd blanket strategy to have.
It's not odd. We are not a FA destination and we need to draft and develop more young talent to elevate us.

Deni Avdija. Wiseman could be a stud too but I can't see him making it to #4. Fits the Hornets perfectly.

Let's offer them a package for Wiseman.I'm in.
Think about Lauri plus #4.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Thread: Bulls pick 4th!
Since he's going to be a popular choice lets go over Lamelo's pros and cons:
Pros:
Great size for a PG
Amazing vision and creativity for a player his age
Reads passing lanes well
Good defensive instincts
Cons:
His shot is ****ing busted just like his brothers and has zero chance of ever being effective in the NBA.
He's not a good finisher around the rim through contact.
He's careless with the basketball and is a turnover machine.
He's lazy so all of the good he does by creating steals is thrown out the door by giving up easy layups and wide open 3's (think James Harden)
He's Lonzo 2.0, at best he's a great passer/mediocre defender who can't create for himself or even hit spot up 3's with any type of consistency. Does that sound enticing to anyone??

Almost certainly, but not to teams like us.
I assume they package #2 and Wiggins for someone who helps them immediately at SF or C.

Why should we pick Melo having White for the point? People are giving up on him with just one season?

Nobody is giving up, he's just not a point guard.

Coby is not going to be a factor if AK wants best talent like Ball.
He is a combo guard and probably his like a Lou Williams type 6th man yr. Hes just not a full time pg like Luka.
My dream is get Ball at 4, trade overpaid Lavine, and move super scorer White to the 2 spot where he can develop as 2nd playmaker.
im not high on him but thats the best i can do to him. not going to give him full power to control Lauri with 30 usg. no way.
KC reported thta AK and EVS were very high on Coby.

I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. I'm not suggesting we trade for cap space. One of the biggest flaws of the last regime was that we almost never made trades for established talent. If we're not enamored with anyone in the draft, then the package I suggested could theoretically give you a great piece to pair with Zach and Lauri.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Thread: Bulls pick 4th!
Well, not from a draft POV, but from a value stand-point, glad we got #4 and not 7-11. Just a little more ammo to work with. Somebody’s gonna screw up the top-3. I can see GS shopping #2. They have an aging core at stake, so that Will Perdue trade up sounds realistic. Don’t think WCJ is the piece though; sooner see Lauri or Thad.
I like the idea of trade down, but I don’t see a scenario I like. The 5-10 teams are asset starved, looking to add not subtract. I’d sooner imagine just buying PHX’s #10 by providing cap relief (Oubre for example).
I totally get the reservations for Wiseman, Toppin, Okongwu...but there is no reason to write them off.
One thing’s for sure — there are 2 PGs projected in top-6 and the 6 top pick teams don’t have a strong need for PG— well they do, but they also have young guys to develop (or in 3 team’s cases, all-stars). 7-9 (Pistons, Knicks, Wizards) on the other hand do need a PG prospect.
Hot takes: MIN takes Edwards and experiences Wiggins 2.0. LaMelo and Hayes will drop or be traded like hot potatoes. GSW takes Wisemen and turns him into a high-production machine.
Have NO idea what the Bulls do, but Deni or the Carter/#4 for Wisemen seem realistic. I can also see Artunas taking LaMelo if he drops to 4.

Beal isn't a good fit with Curry and Klay. They need a switchy wing like Wiggins but really good.

If KD could fit in with them so can Beal so that’s null
