Re: Around The NBA : 21-22 Edition
Can someone explain to me why Blake Griffin's play has dropped off so astronomically over the course of 5 months? He looked solid last year for Brooklyn, but this year may be the worst rotation player in the entire NBA. What exactly happened?

Is Lebron just using every excuse to Kay play this year? Maybe it’s just me but injuries, suspensions and sorta Covid. Feels like he is only trying to play in the playoffs which I understand, but seems annoying too. Maybe I am just nit picking.

I think he actually tested positive in this case, but it does feel like we're seeing the beginning of the wheels falling off.

Well everyone knows he is basically washed. He was more of a try hard last year and played better after Detroit. But in reality with the Nets with no Kyrie and no Harris, they need to space the floor.
Since Blake cant really hit a 3, nor even good from 15 feet any more, and cant move ihs feet to defend, its basically over for him. They really did try their best to give Blake chances but LMA was a WAYYYYY better option and he proved it.

It seems to be more than that though. His FG% plummeted from 49% to 32%. He is washed, but this is just a whole different level.

I think its bizzarro world of Father time. A player who never gets hurt suddenly starts getting hurt and misses time. I think Father Time has actually kicked in on Lebron since he has been a Laker. That pandemic title I thought was a huge benefit to Lebron because it meant he would come in completely fresh for the Bubble.
I mean whatever going on, the man is about to turn 37 in a month. Its pretty amazing.

Well he actually agreed with the decision. And he said hes not played well and not surprised.
On a side note, I really wonder what the Knicks are going to do with Kemba. He got a 2 yr guaranteed deal.

Oh yeah, I mean it’s undeniable. Griffin’s not oblivious. I’m not trying to arguing that he shouldn’t have been benched, I’m just wondering wtf happened. This level of decline is a little crazy.

Warriors are periodically running a zone, or Box and 1. I have a theory that teams are running this more now because it gives players a physical break. Players tend to expend less energy in this defense, and aren’t endlessly chasing guys are screens. And when you have a guy like GPII, who plays less than 20 MPG anyways, you can unleash him in a box and 1, and he’ll have the energy for it, while giving the other guys on the court a significant break physically.

No doubt I don’t think it’s the beginning. Wheels feel off the second he game to LA. He had enough duct tape to keep them on through the bubble but that ok’d cart is about to crash with AD in in it to imho.

It would be hilarious if they waived him and another team picked him up, then he would have 3 teams paying him money every year.
It's incredible how fast he went from being a max player to not making a borderline playoff team's rotation.

Rumor is Kemba may be back on the Block.
To the Pels for Sato might make sense. I could see the Nets or Sixers being interested as well, even the Bucks, assuming the price is very low. Maybe Twolves for depth and playoff experience?
He wouldn’t make any sense for the Bulls, that is for sure….

17 in a row for Phoenix. I think they've gone the entire month without a loss now.

Re: Around The NBA : 21-22 Edition
Well I guess the National media has to start paying attention to PHX now right? It takes them a 17 game win streak and beating the NBA's top team without their best player for most of it.
But no, you will probably have 30 mins dedicated to how the Lakers beat the hapless Kings.

People will harp on strength of schedule, but man look at this season! Preseason top teams been getting beat by upstarts (ourselves included) every week! The Suns should be the talk of the league, but we all keep clicking those LeBron and Kyrie and Injury headlines. I'm guilty as well.

And, unlike that time against the Heat (God bless Nate Robinson), the league cannot count on the official streak busters Chicago Bulls to prevent a new record, because we won't play them for another 32 games.
Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.

Phoenix will be in San Francisco (I almost wrote Oakland) on Friday, so there's a good chance the streak ends then.

I didn't watch their game last night, unfortunately. Man, those west coast tip off times are such a bitch!

Maybe, maybe not.
Phoenix matches up well with Golden State. Ayton is the x-factor for them in that matchup, and Golden State didn't show that they have an answer last night. Of course, if Klay Thompson comes back at 80-90%+ .. different story.

I love it. 7pm latest game and the east coast games start at 4. After work and dinner you watch it and fast fwd through all the commercials and breaks.
Was back East last month and I HATED the 10pm start times. I can honestly say that this would be a legit barrier to moving from west coast.
