I´m rooting for him to go for the Heat helping Jimmy to win his first ring.

I'd be ok as long as it cost them Bam and shortened their timeline. I think Jimmy/KD would be a 1 and done relationship...those dudes seem like a bad personality fit. Jimmy is a "vocal leader" and KD is a sensitive dude.

The Bulls best player is 33 in August, I don't think it matters much about windows closing

I’m rooting for every other team besides the Bulls to lose. Always have and always will.

I didn't know that Sean Marks changed his name to Anonymous GM.

Might as well close this thread.

Bulls don't have the picks and players to make a sensible deal and come out with a remotely more competitive roster than Kyrie/Durant/Simmons and parts.

If I'm Marks, I send a memo to Durant and Kyrie saying "Please show up for camp and compete for a championship. Love to have you back." Shut the laptop and phone off, chuck them in the closet, buy a ticket to Maui and have a nice vacation for 2 months.

Durant is guaranteed for 3 more years. Either he can ask Simmons and Kyrie for suggestions on how to sit out a season for mental health reasons, or he can just get back to playing basketball and making more money per minute than almost any other profession. It's pretty pitiful seeing these 3 very talented guys create so much drama.

Can't happen

Well, unless the team they face is missing their starting PG along with their best player like Butler or Giannis playing on one leg. But that could never happen in the NBA.

Hahaha I'm sure if in some strange realm that was to occurr and the Bulls somehow won it all there would be a segment of Bulls fans who would put an asterisk next to that title win and still be miserable about it all.
Yep

A ballsy buy-low move would be to trade for Ben Simmons. It would be a complete and utter game-changer that would free up the Nets up on the trade market. You could probably force them to include some picks as well. Of course, it'd be a huge risk as well, but Vuc and Coby for Simmons and two firsts is sort of tempting in a way.

Bulls are not in this and the Nets are going to try to convince him to stay there.

I could see Brooklyn trying for the Kobe strategy. Just say there are no trades out there because he is so very awesome, see if the team plays well with Ben Simmons and an available Irving, and KD won't leave a team close to a title. It's not like they'll lose him for nothing over the next couple of years, he's got a long contract.

They certainly aren't making moves like they're tearing it all down. Re-upped Claxton and Patty Mills to big money, signed veteran TJ Warren, and they gave up one of their only 1st round picks to get Royce O'Neal.

I wouldn’t do Vuc and Coby. However, I would do:

Ball, White, Green and Bradley for Simmons.

I'm not far off here. I feel like it's a crapshoot on picking who will have a more durable career going forward between Ball and Simmons. Honestly, if both healthy, I feel like their value is pretty similar.

That said, I'd rather be rid of Vuc, if such a thing was doable, and I'd include POR 1st, but I doubt BKN does either deal given that they traded Harden to get him...the optics would be bad.

I mentioned this exact deal 2 days ago in this very thread.

This THE best deal period. If I’m the nets I pull the trigger.

It doesn’t get better than Ayton Bridges Cam and picks.. the next best deal being Wiggins Kuminga Poole and Moody and picks

Pat Williams injury continues to hurt us. His value is basically nothing because he’s proven nothing in his first two seasons.. he’s not even a young valueable asset when it boils down too it, still a young throw in player. Ayton Bridges and Cam are all more valubele than PWill individually which lets you know the Bulls have no shot via trade at getting a star.

If they really want more than that then they aren’t trading him.

(But I guess Gobert went for something nuts - so who knows)

Even though I think he's amazing, I don't really want KD at this point. He's just a so offputting as a fan. But as far as on-court, doable trade, couldn't we compete with something like this:?

Demar
Williams
Coby
Ayo

“Deandre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and five picks still isn't enough to me for KD,

Well yeah, those are Phoenix with KD, Booker, and CP3 picks. They are going to be #30, they are effectively 2nd rounders.
Deandre Ayton, anyone willing to give him max can have him. Phoenix doesn't want him for max and he's a FA.
So you've effectively traded KD for Cam Johnson and a bunch of 2nd rounders.

If they're going to trade KD, they're going to have to ignore his "list" and trade him to a place that can give them decent picks. So not a top team. They traded most of their picks so it's not like they can tank and at least get someone decent from their own picks.

Or, more likely, they will ignore his trade request. The tank option is 100% sealed off from them, and they doubled down on this when they traded one of their available 1st round picks for Royce O'Neal.
