It sucks that Turner got booed like that in Indiana.

He didnt do anything to them. its not like he was asking out of Indiana. They had put him on the trade block for years. and never complained. The man did spend 10 years of his NBA career there but I guess fans gonna fan.

Yeah, more than a tad. It strikes me that 50% of the struggle is on him and 50% on playing for the worst coach in the NBA. Here are the offensive rankings of every team that Jason Kidd has coached without Luka -

Brooklyn 2014 - #21
Bucks 2015 - #26
Bucks 2016 - #26
Bucks 2017 - #13
Dallas 2016 - #30

Nobody on this year's Dallas team has any idea what the offensive scheme is. They stand around on the perimeter, almost no cuts, no plays, no screens. Only DLo and AD can make the offense happen (plus PJ Washington to a lesser extent) because they are solo players.

It's really painful to watch.

I don't even think that is actually the case. They are running out there with no ball handlers and few shot creators. You can clearly see a difference once DLo gets in the game. Kidd is just better off starting DLO with Coop and call it a day. If anything, It would help both the team and Coop.

This is like having a lineup of Smith, Pat, Huerter, Okoro and telling Matas to setup and create. Its probably can work sometimes but it would not look good consistently.

With, it should be added, Matas mostly standing in the weakside corner, while Smith, Pat, Huerter, and Okoro "create." Because despite what Kidd has stated, on most possessions Flagg is playing as a weakside wing, not as a PG.

It's a shame that AK passed on the deal. It might look bad over time. Hopefully Noa proves me wrong.

It won’t just look bad. It will look historically bad if Atlanta gets a top 3 pick and Newell looks better than Essengue to boot.

Imagine the Bulls start off the season strong. Then imagine they continue to exceed expectations and make the playoffs.

Then imagine they get a top 3 pick in addition to all that.

At least they still might get two of the three things I mentioned above, but a top three pick would've been nice.

And they immediately win their first game as soon as he's out.

He's a good and useful player, but even if he were to remain healthy (highly unlike) I think that his defensive limitations would impose a ceiling on his greatness. Like Blake or (at a less level) Zach Randolph, the guy was born to bully defenders at the rim, but the same build that helps him score inside hurts his defense.

Same with Barkley, of course, although Barkley's scoring & rebounding were so good that they almost overcame his defensive deficiencies. ("Almost" in the sense that Charles was a great player, but not a Top 20 All Time contender.)

I like him. He's flawed, but I'd offer just above MLE for him.

What does this mean for Utah? I know they're not a contending team, but do they tank yet again?

Kessler doesn't have a concerning injury history. A shoulder injury is unfortunate, but it's way better than a back or foot injury. I'd still pay him 20M AAV.

Portland beating OKC was a nice little surprise.
