Re: Official: Draft Day Game Thread
I'm not a huge fan of his, but surprised Flip fell out of the first round. If we can get a second round pick tomorrow, and draft Flip and Matas, I'll give the front office an A+ for this draft.
Why so serious?

Re: Official: Draft Day Game Thread
Turning the NBA draft into a two day affair is a ridiculous idea. Absurd. Viewership for day 2 would be in the gutter if it weren't for the possibility of Bronny getting picked.

Filipowski and Furphy both slip into the 2nd round.

Round 2 big board
Kyle Filipowski-Duke (15-30)
Bobi Klintman-Sweden (15-30)
Ulrich Comche-Africa (20-30)
Nikola Djurisic-Serbia (20-30)
Johnny Furphy-Kansas (25-30)
Trentyn Flowers-Adelaide (25-30)
Zyon Pullin-Syracuse (2)
Jonathan Mogbo-SF (2)
Pelle Larson-Arizona (2)
Adem Bona-UCLA (2)
I would trade a bunch to get Filipowski. He's a starter in this league.

Believe the recovery timetable was until mid July.

Timberwolves should've drafted Tyler Smith. I think Terrence Shannon will get lost on that team. He'll be the new Wendell Moore. Those guys also have Leonard Miller who should be fighting for a rotation spot.

There's a somewhat plausible future timeline in which, completely out of nowhere, Minnesota drafted the two best guards in the 2024 draft.

Re: Official: Draft Day Game Thread
Chopping the 2-round NBA draft into two nights was already silly, but airing the second round in the afternoon of the next day is head-scratching. Why bother splitting it if you are going to do that?
Feels like if this continues the NBA's second round is going to become an afterthought that no one watches. It was already an afterthought, to an extent, but it was also an "after party." That had value.

Some quotes from the AK presser. Buckle up, I suppose. Lets see what he can cook up.
Goddamnit, I didn't think the old boy had it in him. He dug himself quite a hole while wasting assets, but he's finally accepted it and appears to be making smart moves in the early stages of his shift. Its very encouraging, at least.

Have to imagine 31 and 32 are the Filipowski and Smith steals. Good for Toronto and Utah.
Does Milwaukee go for Kolek? I liked him a lot for a 2nd string NBA PG. Kind of TJ/AC defensive hustle but more playmaking chops.

Kolek is a straight up winner. I love him. He's a first round talent and is going to be an amazing second round pick for a backup point guard who will come in and improve your team right away.
