I don't see it. Lebron wants a max. Which means big paycuts for the other two idjits- and a big, big paycut for Melo- if he wanted to go there as well. And that still doesn't solve their issues at PG or on the front line. Heat would be better served going for Pau/Gortat/Lowry, etc. Here's to hoping they strike out on all of the above.

yeah, the Anthony Randolph was a head scratcher. I could imagine a phone call might have taken place saying "ok, which stiff do you want?"

Whether that includes Boozer to the Knicks, to a 3rd team or via amnesty, I am not sure, however this news has instilled more confidence in me.

I see others have said this has weakened our leverage, but I disagree.

I'm reading between the lines, but no way do the FO do this without having something lined up. Orlando clearing space further adds to my confidence, as does our relationship with Utah.

So this thing is going on tonight? Taj attending i see as a positive as well but my optimism has been curbed since taking on randolphs contract further lessing cap space. Sure they could be dumped. really? could boozer be dumped? rip? Maybe the shining lite is that he is a smaller contract but also lesser skill level. lesser skill level than rip? thats debatable. Plus i hear no one talking about buying out randolph. Not sure if that would be an option. but again no is tlaking about it and there is the real possibility of moving the dougster for cap room.

Lebron doesn't want a max deal. I wouldn't put too much stock into every single report out there.

They don't seem to care about having a conventional ball-club either so.

We'll see,

They have more than a puncher's chance. They pretty much have the freedom to do whatever they want, as does he.

Delusional, no. Unlikely? MAYBE

But I doubt it.

Lebron is probably going to be a billionaire. Taking a max deal right now isn't going to change that fact.

Once again, don't believe every single article you read. If they can bring in the 'right' talent, he'll take a hell of a pay cut. He's going to be an endorsement king for the rest of his life.

If I was rich, I'd take a huge pay cut to be comfortable and play ball with my brother too.

But, we'll see.

They didn't have any cap until they all opted out, which wasn't official til yesterday right?

But you're right,

FA just started though so we'll see..

I'm not going off articles. Lebron all year has been pretty much hinting to getting if not max then more than what he made last year because he wants to be paid for what he thinks he's worth. He first started when that baseball player got that huge contract.

Lebron is the kind of guy that if he was a billionaire he wants to be a trillionaire.

Or a one peat- given the San Antonio brain cramp in game 6 of the 2013 Finals. Replay the last 4 minutes of game 6 100 times- and the Spurs probably win 95 of them. You can't play the "they should have game" the Heat have two- which is what they deserve. No more- no less. As Bill Parcells once opined about a different sport- you pretty much get what you deserve.

True...

The only clear advantage they've had is playing a inexperienced OKC team whom they steam-rolled.

Other than that, it has NOT been easy for the Big 3..which is why Riley is going to bring in Carmelo

They need depth, not another superstar.

even if the bulls just keep their top 4 guys to offer melo a 17 or more mil contract....is that even an attractive situation to go to?
The vet minimum is stronger than what it used to be and we would have the rmle (for gods sake hoping its mirotic but i see it as kinda unlikely if he is as good as advertised. )

Its possibly stronger than the heats big 3 offseason where they had gaping holes at 2 positions. They had sub caliber starters at their big position and a pretty bad pg.

Lebron just made 30 more million off Apple/Dre Beats

He's already paid what he think he's worth. Making more than the other stars on his team, IMO, I don't believe is his style.

I don't want to make this about Melo2Miami though. I have to wait and see just like everyone else.

Welp.

The Bulls are the first team that Anthony will meet with when free agency opens on July 1. He will fly to Chicago to hear the Bulls' pitch. Sources say that Noah will either be present at the free agency meeting, or will meet with Anthony at the conclusion of the meeting. Noah wants to bring Rose along with him as well, and is trying to persuade the point guard to attend the meeting. Rose has made it clear that he doesn't view it as his job to recruit free agents.
