Chicago Bulls still feel confident they are still in the discussion for Carmelo Anthony but the momentum has been lost. (Source: Joe Cowley)

I wonder if there is anyway for the Bulls to regain momentum...

Perhaps Rose calling Carmelo? I'm not mentioning this in setting of the Broussard report, but what else is there to do at this time? Noah has done his part. The front office and coach have done theirs. Reinsdorf perhaps?

How is momentum being lost? Does Melo have momentum meters in his headquarters?

Even if you add Gasol I still don't think that team is a contender.

With Gasol, they make the playoffs. They are not a guarantee to even make it to round 2.

Smoke screen. That makes no sense. If you lost momentum, how do you still feel confident? Bulls are just trying to make it look like they're losing it...then...BAM! Melo to Bulls!

Shouldn't Thibs be talking to Leon Rose and asking what Melo is feeling? Get a gauge of where he is and then proceed.

In the East, you make the playoffs with Melo on your roster. Rest of the team doesn't even matter.

There's nothing we can really do, outside of getting Gasol to sign for the minimum or something.

There's just too much working against us:

1. Money
2. Children's schools
3. Not really wanting to leave NY in the first place

It's hard for me to make a compelling reason why he or anyone would make the move with all those factors. There's no shame in it. Bulls had a lot to over come, and seemingly did the best they could. That's why it's important to make trades.

Free-agency, from now on, will primarily be about the movement of non-franchise players.

Our best hope now is that Phil says something insulting to Melo right before he signs on the dotted line.

Yeah, its a really stupid tweet unless he's referencing the $129 million reasons Melo goes back to NY.

That's the key

Rose knows what's best for both of his clients and that's uniting them

That idea will go over like a fart in church at the Rose compound.

They should call it "media-mentum." It's when a bunch of idiots like Broussard decide there is some significant event based on some ridiculous assumption or conflation. E.G., "remember Phil Jackson?" Yes, I do. It was the Bulls management that built the teams he coached. It was the Lakers management that built the teams he coached. I think his name was MITCH KUPCHAK.

Even if you add Gasol I would bet my next year's salary that team doesn't go to the finals.
