Chicago Bulls still feel confident they are still in the discussion for Carmelo Anthony but the momentum has been lost. (Source: Joe Cowley)
I wonder if there is anyway for the Bulls to regain momentum...
Perhaps Rose calling Carmelo? I'm not mentioning this in setting of the Broussard report, but what else is there to do at this time? Noah has done his part. The front office and coach have done theirs. Reinsdorf perhaps?
There's nothing we can really do, outside of getting Gasol to sign for the minimum or something.
There's just too much working against us:
1. Money
2. Children's schools
3. Not really wanting to leave NY in the first place
It's hard for me to make a compelling reason why he or anyone would make the move with all those factors. There's no shame in it. Bulls had a lot to over come, and seemingly did the best they could. That's why it's important to make trades.
Free-agency, from now on, will primarily be about the movement of non-franchise players.
Our best hope now is that Phil says something insulting to Melo right before he signs on the dotted line.
