I mean, they have as many wins as the Bulls and are known for hunting low playoff seeds for years now. They locked themselves into this current group even more by extending Fultz and Isaac early. A Vuc trade would be really surprising IMO. Maybe they finally move on from Gordon, but his current injury might end up being the reason he survives yet another trade deadline.

I don't think they'll actually trade Vucevic, but think that they should. What will another low playoff seed do for them going forward?

Oh I agree, especially because I‘m not the biggest Vuc fan, but their ownership apparently pushes hard to avoid being really bad at all costs. So they’re just bad instead, but they have a shot to make the postseason. But yeah, doesn’t seem their FO is allowed to do much about it.

Vucevic would be interesting. He checks a bunch of boxes.
- Rebounding
- Good value contract for 3 years
- Good passer for a big
- Has range but can also score from down low

He is older than Zach by 5 years so the window would be small but his value contract would give the Bulls a lot of flexibility.

Not sure what I would offer but I wonder if Lauri, Wendell and Felicio plus a 1st rounder and a pick swap could do it?

The Bulls could enter the offseason with:
Sato / Coby
Zach / ....
PW / ......
.... / Thad
Vucevic / Gafford

Plus $28m in capspace.

Vuc is a very underrated player. 28/11/4 vs the Milwaukee bucks last year in the playoffs would have been one of the best playoff series last year, but nobody cared.

It's clear having a competent center who can run plays is critical to Billy's system, and Thad is the closest thing we have. Who will be gone shortly. It would be a great fit for both parties.

I think the hold up is the same as it's always been, Orlando hasn't showed interest in trading him even after drafting Bamba. Everyone thought a youth movement would eventually happen, but that team is still riding on Vuc, Fournier, & Ross.

Trade assuming the Rockets priority is getting rid of Wall's contract

Rockets trade: Wall and Tucker
Rockets get: OPJ, Sato, Arci, Bjelica, Glen Robinson III, and Bulls lotto protected 1st(and seconds if need)

Kings Trade: Whiteside, Bjelica, and GR3
Kings get: Wendall Carter Jr

Bulls trade: OPJ, Sato, Arci, Carter and picks
Bulls get: Wall, Tucker, and Whiteside

Wall/White
Lavine/Denzel
Tucker/Williams
Mark/Young
Whiteside/Gafford

And with the news of cousins leaving the Rockets, a Wall trade might convince him to come here. He'd be the starter over Whiteside.

Either way, that could possibly mean a top 10 offense and defense and one of the best teams in the east with a legit shot of losing to the nets in the ECF

Step away from the trade machine.

My hopes

Move lauri to pelicans for lonzo and a pick
Move Sato for a pick and expiring (saw the clippers had interest in him)

Take those 2 newly acquired picks plus our 1st and a pick swap next season with coby porter jr and Felicio for beal and Robin lopez.

Lonzo for Lauri is fair. They wouldn’t include picks.
That’s not enough for Beal.

Remember: trading high should hurt.

As in, I really don’t want to lose Thadgic; which is why I’m completely willing to lose Thadgic.

I think a contender could give up an FRP for him. He’s probably our most valuable tradable asset.

What he brings to the team is worth more than a late first round pick.

I’d rather have him than a late first. I think the long talk will definitely be about Markkanen too.

That's an interesting idea, but I think it'd have to be a three team deal because Orlando will have to decide if they want Markkanen or Gordon as their PF going forward. I'm also hesitant to give them the pick swap, but they'll probably ask for it.

But this is all moot if Orlando doesn't want to trade Vucevic (and it seems like they don't want too).

My Vuc deal is Carter to OKC, with them sending one of their picks to ORL
Porter to Orl, along with our pick, top 4 protected
Vuc and Ross to Chi

Orl REALLY needs to burn it down. This deal saves a lot of $ this year, and much more in the future. They get 2 picks for their vets
OKC gets a free shot at an OK big prospect in Carter, using a pick and some cap space
Bulls roll out
Sato/White/Archie
Lavine/Temple/White
Williams/Ross/Valentine/Hutch
Lauri/TYoung/Williams
Vuc/Lauri/Gafford

That team looks very solid to me. Ross is not essential to the deal, or we could add Hutch if they are interested

Is it possible to get Aaron Gordon & Vucevic?
