There were a loooooooooooot of complaints about how they didn't do anything during the trade deadline. But look at them now.
This has got to be the best off season in Bulls history, and that's not being overly dramatic. Sure, we still haven't hit the top tier superstar in free agency as yet, but look at the talent upgrade. Vuc and DeRozan are allstar level talent. Ball is a starter quality player who is still very young and on an upside. This is huge.
And again, we are just building legitimate talent, and assets, who are going to be moveable if need be, for who knows, maybe a player of the likes of Lillard. Who knows, but it feels extremely odd to have this much valuable talent on this roster.
Now pay Zach, and get to work!
Honestly, the best off season in Bulls history was 1984, when we drafted MJ.![]()
But the last 24 hours have been unreal, considering how many times I've read that AKME f'ed up by doing the Vuc trade, because - and I quote - "we won't have any assets this summer to improve the team".
Also something to remember, we worked as a team over the cap to make all these moves. We didn't go the route of creating as much space as possible, but instead, used existing assets to acquire talent. And we have only added to that talent/asset pool for the future.
I'm glad you added that, I almost wrote a 3rd paragraph saying basically the same thing.
We didn't use cap space, and we didn't have to renounce any of our free agents. So we still have the Full MLE and the BAE to add more depth.
Even being as optimistic as I've been, I still didn't see this many great moves being done this quickly.
